🦃 Thanksgiving Break Camp Enrollment Is Open!

When school's out, EmpowerME Preschool & Childcare is in. Our break camp gives children days full of learning, play, and time with their EmpowerME community, giving parents reliable childcare while they work, study, or get things done.

We're enrolling at both our Citrus Heights and South Sac locations.

📅 3-Day Option: Monday, November 23 to Wednesday, November 25, 7:30 AM to 5:45 PM
📅 4-Day Option: Monday, November 23 to Wednesday, November 25, 7:30 AM to 5:45 PM, plus Friday, November 27, 8:30 AM to 5:45 PM

Interested in Arden? We're gauging interest in opening that site, and we need at least 8 children registered to open it. Let us know if you'd like us to!

🥧 Dinner for Donations Is Back for 2026! 💜

Give yourself the night off. Our homemade chicken pot pies are ready to heat and eat, and every pie helps fund programs that empower single moms and their children.

Here's what you need to know:
✔️ Orders close Monday, November 2.
📅 Pickup is Saturday, November 7, from 12:30 to 3 PM at the Single Mom Strong Empowerment Center in Citrus Heights.

Each 9-inch pie serves 3 to 4 people and costs $25, plus Eventbrite fees.

Bonus: The first 25 people to order five or more pies get free delivery within 20 miles that afternoon. Enjoy one for dinner, freeze the rest, or share with the neighbors!

You may also purchase a pie to donate to a single-mom-led family, providing dinner for their family.

🎃 Pumpkin Patch Day With Our Village!
Yesterday, our Mom & Me families met up at Bobby Dazzler's Pumpkin Patch in Woodland for a little fall fun.

The Cow Train and Corn Bath were big hits. We also visited the petting zoo, chatted, took pictures, and made memories along the way.

We welcomed two new families to the group, too, and it was great to see them connect with families who have been part of our village for a while.

We love creating chances for single moms and their kids to get out, try something fun, and get to know other families.

At EmpowerMe Preschool & Childcare, we love watching children learn through play. These everyday moments give them chances to practice language, build confidence, use their imagination, and develop a love of learning.

Our educators create a space where children can be curious, creative, and themselves.

And right now, we're enrolling for infants through preschool at both of our locations, Citrus Heights and South Sac.

When was the last time you stopped to celebrate yourself?
Last night, moms in our monthly Virtual Village did exactly that, together on Zoom.

We talked about what we've accomplished this year and what we hope to accomplish next year. We shared the challenges we've overcome, the little wins that deserve a cheer, and the big wins we're really proud of.

Some moms opened up in ways that took courage. Others answered with tips and ideas for getting past roadblocks. There was listening, encouragement, honesty, and a whole lot of cheering each other on.

Sometimes we're so focused on what's next that we forget to recognize what we've already done. Last night, we made space for that.

That's what our village looks like: moms showing up for each other and reminding each other that nobody has to do this alone.

Games, Grill & Giving brought our village together for an afternoon of BBQ, yard games, prizes, and plenty of fun.

And the dunk tank did not disappoint. Our village got the chance to dunk Alex, Tara, and Elicia, and you definitely took advantage of it!

A huge thank you to SMUD for sponsoring Games, Grill & Giving and helping make this event possible for our families and supporters. We're grateful for your continued partnership with Single Mom Strong.

Pancho Villa BBQ Fair Oaks donated a BBQ dinner our families loved. We heard compliment after compliment about the food, and we're grateful for the generosity that made it such a memorable part of the day.

Walmart donated the supplies for our sundae bar, and our families loved it!

Of course, none of it happens without our volunteers. Your help with setup, games, food, the craft table, the sundae bar, the dunk tank, and cleanup made the day possible.

And a special thank you to everyone who sponsored another family to join us. Because of your generosity, more moms and kids were able to spend the afternoon with our village, and we’re so grateful you chose to make that possible.

And to everyone who came out, played, laughed, donated, and bought raffle tickets, thank you for spending your Saturday with us.

We'd call that a pretty great Saturday. 💜

Our next Career Clothing Closet Shopping Party is Tuesday, October 20, and we’ve got sweaters and coats ready for the cooler weather, along with professional clothing you can shop for at no cost.

Come browse, try something new, and get a second opinion from your fellow single moms. You never know when someone is going to say, “That looks SO good on you!”

And because coats take up some serious real estate, bring a big bag!

🎁 Holiday Adopt-A-Family is opening October 5! 💜

One of our favorite traditions of the year is almost here, and we’re getting ready to bring a little holiday magic to single mom-led families in our village.

Last year, our community came together to support 103 single-parent families and 239 children, with more than 2,500 gifts wrapped across five gift-wrapping events.

This year, applications open Monday, October 5. If your family could use a little extra joy this holiday season, keep an eye on our social media for the application link and details.
