Dex had his check up today. He's 2 inches taller at the shoulder and has gained 4lbs. Everything looked great! Pretty safe to say he wasn't 2 years old like they suspected because he was still growing. That's usually just a rough guess anyway. Doc estimated he was probably between 12 and 18 months.

Okay, so Mr. Dex went over to the toy box and got out a bone. He laid it on the arm of the couch then immediately went back and got another. The other day he had five out, one right after another. I swear this guy cracks me up. Shutter just sits and watches him like, "What the heck are you doing?"

I have had, in my life, eight dogs. This is my buddy Bear, he was the first and Shutter's big brother. Bear has been gone more than 10 years now but many of his mannerisms have lived on through Shutter. I think about him everyday and still have a lot of photos of both him and him and Shutter together. Combined with the photos of my Mutts, my children, and my folks on every wall I feel I live in a house filled with love. Even though some of them are not here anymore, they still exist in my photos and my living memories.
