"I may have committed a crime, but I was no criminal."

Still reflecting on a powerful Fifth Third Bank Community Day from Sunday. We screened the film "We Grew Up: Kids in Adult Prisons" with Children's Law Center, Inc. and welcomed Candice Tolbert, Sasha Naiman, Rayshun Holt John Bacon and Adrienne Tye for a candid discussion on the effects of bindover in the criminal justice system.

in 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech before more than 250,000 people at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

The demonstration helped press President John F. Kennedy and government leaders to pass the Civil Rights Act, which banned segregation in public spaces and employment discrimination.

Signed the following year, the act marked a major step forward. United by a shared purpose, persistence can still change the story.

Our Manager of Visitor and Community Engagement Easton Phillips represented the Freedom Center at the Cincinnati Public Schools Back to School Fest recently, helping ensure students, families and educators alike were in the know about what resources and opportunities we offer for all learners.

Bank of America came through! Thank you Freedom Center board member Mark Ryan and your colleagues at Bank of America for your donation of 🌟101🌟 backpacks filled with school supplies for Operation Backpack.

You can still drop off donations on-site at the Freedom Center and various Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library or Furniture Fair locations through August 12.
