Thank you, St. Gertrude Ladies of Charity!

Each time driver Tom pulls his truck up to the doors of the NEEDS pantry, he delivers bigger surprises. This month's donation to NEEDS — the third from the Ladies of Charity — was their biggest yet. Almost 300 pounds of non-perishable food and non-food items! What a great help in stocking the pantry for the winter months ahead. We are so grateful!

Wanted: Thanksgiving turkeys!

The NEEDS pantry would like to provide each of the families we serve with a turkey for Thanksgiving. Since a family can only visit once every four weeks, we need to begin stocking turkeys now. You can help!

Donate a turkey: If you would like to donate an actual frozen turkey, please drop it off at the pantry (within Kenwood Baptist Church) during our open hours (Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-1:00) until the week before Thanksgiving.

Donate funds: If you prefer to donate money toward the purchase of turkeys -- which would enable us to buy them as needed and not overwhelm our freezers! -- you can mail your check to NEEDS c/o Kenwood Baptist Church, 8341 Kenwood Rd, Cincinnati OH 45236. Just put "turkeys" in the memo line.

Every family deserves to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Thank you for making that possible!

Now through September 30: NEEDS is holding our annual Student Assistance Drive!

Students in the Deer Park, Sycamore, Princeton, and Silverton districts have returned to school – but many families in these districts cannot afford school supplies or other essentials. NEEDS is seeking gift cards and monetary donations to help these families. Gift cards and funds give school administrators flexibility to assist students with a variety of needs throughout the year, from school supplies and transportation to food and warm clothing. You can help!

What to donate:
– Gift cards from stores such as Walmart, Target, and Kroger ($25 cards work best, but all denominations are appreciated!)
– Visa and Mastercard gift cards
– Shell gas cards (many families live in areas where busing is not available)
– Check (marked for Student Assistance Drive)

Please drop off your donation during our open hours (Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-1:00), or mail your gift card or check to:

Double your impact with employer donation matching!

Did you know that many companies will match employees’ charitable gifts? GE, one of Cincinnati’s most prominent employers, pioneered a donation matching program in 1954. Both employees and retirees (after 2017) can apply to GE for matching funds for their donations to NEEDS.

According to GE's website, 65% of Fortune 500 companies now offer this perk. Your employer may be one of them!

Contact your HR department to find out if your company will match your donation to NEEDS, and your support will go twice as far to benefit families in our community!
