Trick or treat? How about a TREE treat! 🎃🎄 Enjoy the candy, and then get ready, because Troop 24’s Fraser fir sale is just a few weeks away. Starts Black Friday, 11/27, at the St James Athletic Fields parking lot, and runs through roughly Sunday, 12/13.

Halloween may be next up but Christmas trees will soon “be present” at Troop 24’s annual holiday tree sale starting Black Friday 11/27 (the day after thanksgiving). Ha ha!

Last year’s Troop 24 tree sale was such a great success. We are once again selling beautiful fraser fir trees for this Christmas! Please plan to visit our tree sale again this year at the St James Athletic Fields parking lot beginning on Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving (11/27) through roughly Sunday December 13th.

Thank you to all in the community who consistently come out to support us and take a lovely tree home for the holiday season.

If we are what we repeatedly do than, we had an amazing end of summer at Troop 24! With the merger of Troop 24 and 420 nearly complete and the two fantastic summer camp trips described our last post to the backpacking trips, cardboard regatta, and our annual pig roast for all the families during the last few months, it was a fantastic wrap to the warm weather season. We are looking forward to some great fall and winter activities!

Our Camp Freidlander crew (Troop 420 and Troop 24 combined) returns from their week of adventure tomorrow! What a great time they had!

The adventure for Troop 24 scouters keeps on coming! After a great backpacking adventure last weekend, our Summit Bechtel summer camp crew departed St James this morning for the mountains and forests of West Va! With a host of merit badge classes, climbing, zip lining, and whitewater rafting on the agenda for the week, we’re certain they will have an incredible time. In two weeks, a separate contingent of our troop and Troop 420 will be heading to summer camp here at Camp Friedlander for similar adventures. Some of our scouts are going to both camps! Yes, you can do that! Thanks as always to our volunteer adult leaders across Troops 24 and 420 who give countless hours away from jobs and family to teach, encourage, and protect our youth. Scouting for Life!

And they’re off! Just a one-night “gear shake down” trip! Who forgot something? Who brought too much weight? We’ll know tomorrow!
