The Black & White Cancer Survivors Foundation

The Black & White Cancer Survivors Foundation Our mission is to raise cancer awareness, especially in the local minority communities disproportiona Keith Melvin and "DJ Bill" William Mabrey.

The Black & White Cancer Survivors Foundation (BWCSF) was co-founded by Dr. C. The two were sharing their personal experiences at a party that Bill was hosting for his wife, Debra, who by then was in remisision for nearly two years after her diagnosis and treatment, but still found it difficult to cope with the realities of her experiences. Other cancer survivors, including Dr. Melvin (for over 13

years) and his wife, Cassandra, (who had two bouts with cancer) were in attendance. The casual sharing of information and experiences was cathartic. At this party, Dr. Melvin and Bill decided to make this an annual event "a celebration of life" of community cancer survivors, their families, friends, and the business community. We assessed our individual and collective strengths to determine how we could bring this endeavor to the wider community, and we have been blessed to hold the annual Black & White Cancer Survivors Ball. It is our goal to celebrate many more birthdays by encouragaing our community to:

-- Practice preventive care

-- Get scheduled screenings

-- Consult with healthcare providers

-- Use existing cancer support systems and agencies

Please join us for the 5th Annual Women’s Empowerment Luncheon on Saturday, May 30th from 12:00PM - 3:00PM, hosted by the Cincinnati NAACP's W.I.N. (Women In NAACP) Committee, for an unforgettable afternoon of celebration and purpose!!

This year, we gather in the same spirit of sisterhood ~ intentionally showing love, support, and solidarity to one another while uplifting the extraordinary accomplishments of women working right here among us, in our own communities. Together, we will celebrate the collective impacts women continue to make as leaders, advocates, entrepreneurs, caregivers, creatives, and change agents.

Come dressed in your confidence and let's fill the room with Power, Purpose, and Positivity as we honor the past and build the future - together.

Tickets can be purchased using the link below.

David Rivera and Rubio bought a house in Tallahassee when they were coming up together in Florida politics. But he’s been a headache for the secretary of state ever since, and now he could be one for the Trump White House, too.
