Big News!

Such a great day for Scouting in Ohio!

Governor Mike DeWine has signed legislation guaranteeing Scouting America, along with other designated patriotic youth organizations, access to schools for recruitment.

This milestone follows a collaborative advocacy effort led by the Dan Beard Council and Simon Kenton Council, benefiting all 10 Scouting America councils across Ohio.

The law takes effect in mid-September. All recruitment will continue under current school agreements, with all school coordination managed through Dan Beard Council's Membership team.

Please know that we are actively working on similar legislation in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and will keep our Scouting families and volunteers updated as those efforts develop.

We're excited about the opportunities ahead to introduce more families to the adventure and impact of Scouting!

Congrats to Kevin and Bernie!!! Well deserved!

Congratulations to the 2025 Dan Beard Council Class of Silver Beavers!

The Silver Beaver Award is bestowed upon those persons who have given continued, unselfish, and effective service to the community, usually through the Scouting America program, but not limited to Scouting. Because Scouters may not nominate themselves for this award, only those persons who have been nominated by their Scouting peers are considered. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest recognition a local Council can bestow upon volunteer leaders.

Please join us in celebrating these outstanding volunteers at the Dan Beard Council Recognition Event: Celebrating Outstanding Scouting on Sunday, May 31st at 3pm at the Scout Achievement Center.
