Obviously PAYPAL cares nothing about it’s clients or it’s reputation.
I was hacked, email stolen and the thieves have taken over our PayPal account and I can’t get any
help!
10-6-26, 6:30 am- I’m editing less than 15 hours after I wrote this: Here is the email I received
Monday evening (Oct 5), at 6:30 pm.
Hello, Dave Parker
An update about your case
We've completed our review of your unauthorized activity case, and we’ve determined there was no
unauthorized use.
We're unable to locate the transaction.
We tried to call you on October 5, 2026 to obtain the information we needed.
If you'd like us to review a transaction you don't recognize, please file a new case and provide
all the necessary details.
If you can't log in to your PayPal account, you can still report an unauthorized transaction.
For folks who can’t read the small print, it says: they reviewed the case and can’t find the
transaction associated, That is because there isn’t “a” transaction- the whole account has been
stolen!!!
It goes on the say: If you find a transaction you believe in error file a new case #.
It also says they attempted to call me- false!
I was home all Friday evening, and the phone never
rang. If anyone would challenge me on this I would be happy to show the phone records…
In addition to this email- there were 6 others from PP all stating that our bank declined to
transfer funds to the PP account- we would never do this! In the years we used PP we NEVER sent
money from the bank to PP. It was always us using PP to raise funds and transferring money from PP
to the bank- never, not once the other direction!
And to cap it off, the amounts were: .50;5.00;9.00;2.00 and 1.00. Anyone would recognize that this is the thieves testing to see if they can get the funds from the bank.
10/5/2026:
Early in the week of 9/20 my personal email was hijacked. Somehow the thieves accessed not only our
personal credit card info, but also the Non -profit Foundation for which I am the Event
Coordinator.
Now, our PayPal account for the Dave Parker39 Foundation, which is a small non-profit organization
trying to raise funds to help patients and Caregivers suffering with Parkinsons, looks to be
completely stolen.
We didn’t have much money there, about $2900.00 and some change, but it is a lot to us, and
generously donated by folks who care about Parkinsons and/or were friends of Dave’s. The Bigger
question is how can an organization like PP be so disjointed and unable to help the victims of
obvious fraud??
Last week one day a supervisor gave me a Case # and I assumed that like a case number with other
institutions, that it would lead any representative to a file that explained what has happened and
what was the last thing done. WRONG
The nice person who gave me the case #, said to wait until Oct.9ᵗʰ , the account was frozen/blocked
until then. We could transfer our money to our bank account on the 9th, I thought we were safe.
WRONG.
After that, Dave Parker’s widow, who is the Executive Director of the Foundation, called and said
that someone tried to cash a $9,200 check on the foundation which our bank refused.
On Friday the 2ⁿᵈ of Oct., I received emails from PP stating that because the bank had rejected
transactions, they were deleting the bank from our account! In addition, different emails stated
that, two factor authorization had been added to the account and pass keys deleted.
I guess that protects the money in the bank, but it doesn’t help us get our funds from PP.
So, I called PP Friday. I went through the whole scenario once I got to a live representative. I
tried in vain for almost an hour for him to take the Case # and get me a supervisor. He kept saying
he had to verify that I have an account and would not understand that the account has been
hijacked: my email doesn’t work, my PW doesn’t do anything . The last 4 digits of my social don’t
help nor do the last 4 digits of the bank account , which is no longer associated with the PP
account since they deleted it!
The rep finally took the case # and then said there is no transaction being disputed per that
number. OF COURSE not, all the transactions may be disputed, the account has been stolen!
He finally was tired of me telling him to get a supervisor and said okay. I was on hold for 10 or
so minutes and he came back and said they were very busy and a supervisor would call me.
That was Friday 10/2 about 2:30 to 3pm. No one called.
Today is October 5ᵗʰ, 3pm, 4 days later. No one has called. So, I called again.
Was on for 28 minutes with a nice fellow (Nico)- who listened and then decided to get a supervisor.
I was on hold for a few minutes then cut off with just a busy signal. Isn’t that a sign you were
hung up on? Or am I just paranoid?
Since the first thing the customer service line says is that your phone number is recognized, they
should call me back- but I’m not holding my breath.
The old adage says good customer service get repeated once or twice and I’ve always gone above and
beyond and told many more than that about good experience and that bad customer service gets told
to 9 or 10.
Well, this is going to a lot more than 9 or ten. Doug King
