Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen.

Reflection: In answering a trick question posed to him in today’s Gospel, Jesus responds in part, by saying we are to repay to God what belongs to God. Take some time today to reflect upon all that we have received from God. In reality, every good gift we have, including our very life, belongs to God. We are the stewards of God’s creation. Let us repay God by being good stewards of all we have been gifted…including our life and our faith. Thank you, God, for everything!

Today’s Saints - Saints Marcellinus & Peter, Martyrs – June 2

Saints Marcellinus and Peter lived in the 3rd century and served the Church of Rome, Marcellinus as a priest and Peter as an exorcist. They were beheaded by decree of the Emperor Diocletian in the early years of the 4th century, circa 303. Both are mentioned in Eucharistic Prayer I, the Roman Canon.

“Jesus began to speak to the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders in parables.” (Mark 12:1a)

Reflection: God has planted a vineyard and sent his Son to obtain the produce. Unlike the tenants in today’s Gospel who rejected and killed the vineyard owner’s son, let us know who we are and whose we are. Let us stay rooted in Jesus. May we tend and cultivate the vineyard, so it produces much fruit, knowing that we are worker’s in God’s vineyard, and that the harvest is God’s harvest. All for the glory of God!
