From college radio to the Longworth-Anderson Series 🎶
We recently caught up with Dr. Jeff Menzise, CMHS trustee and LAS Advisory Committee member, to talk about a lifetime spent around music.
Jeff got his start on the air at Fisk University’s WFSK in Nashville, eventually hosting the longest-running student program in the station’s history. Along the way, he found himself on stage with artists like Jay-Z, Outkast, Goodie Mob, Biz Markie, and Da Brat—and collected more than a few great stories.
Today, that love of music continues through his work with LAS, where he helps us bring a wide variety of artists and genres to the Memorial Hall OTR stage.
As Jeff puts it, “Music has served as a catalyst for bringing people together who otherwise may have never met.”

Getting Started You spent years in radio in Nashville before making Cincinnati home. What first drew you to broadcasting? I was born and raised in Cincinnati but moved to Nashville right out of high school to attend Fisk University. My first roommate was a bass player from Chicago
