Madisonville Education and Assistance Center (MEAC) A nonprofit providing services to stabilize & enrich the lives of families in our community.

Our programming is based on the expressed needs of our neighbors as we strive to be an organization that works alongside and as part of the community. We understand basic needs must be met before our neighbors can reach their full potential. To help meet these needs, we offer access to fresh food, financial assistance with housing and utilities, and guidance and support to navigate community resources. Additionally, to support the whole family, MEAC partners with our neighborhood public school to provide an Early Literacy program. Our program gives pre-K students early access to successful literacy interventions while boosting and sustaining the literacy gains for primary students. MEACโ€™s neighbors are able to access these services in the community where they live, work, and/or attend school. These place-based efforts work together to reduce poverty and promote family economic security and child well-being.

We couldn't do this alone. Our partnerships with organizations like Freestore Foodbank and La Soupe help keep MEAC running and serving our neighbors weekly. We are deeply grateful for these partnerships and that they allow us to continue serving our neighbors and making a difference within our community.

Did you know MEAC offers services other than food assistance? Project LIFT works one-on-one with families who have kids under 18, helping remove barriers to better jobs and long-term financial stability, resume help, goal-setting, and connecting neighbors to resources they didn't know existed. Real support, real relationships, real progress.

Help us help our neighbors

A gift of any size helps keep our shelves full. $25 can help stock a shelf with staples. $50 helps us provide fresh produce for several families. $100 supports a family working through Project LIFT toward financial stability. Every dollar stays right here in our neighborhood. Will you chip in today?

Help Us Give Every Child a Head Start! ๐Ÿ“š

From the moment they're born, children are absorbing language, forming connections, and building the foundation for everything they'll learn in school and beyond. That's why MEAC is proud to partner with ParentChild+, a national early literacy program that equips children with the tools and families with the confidence to make those precious first years count.

We Need Your Book Donations!
Our ParentChild+ team relies on books and hands-on curriculum to meet each child where they are. You can make a direct impact by donating:
- Gently used or new books from our reading list
- Any gently used children's books we hand out to kids who visit the marketplace each week

Every book you donate puts learning in the hands of a child who needs it most. Drop off your donations at MEAC, and thank you for helping us empower our neighbors and build brighter futures, one book at a time. ๐Ÿ’›
