đź’™ Hydrocephalus Awareness đź’™

Did you know that hydrocephalus affects approximately 1 million Americans? This serious neurological condition occurs when excess cerebrospinal fluid builds up in the brain, creating pressure that can damage brain tissue and interfere with vital functions.

Hydrocephalus can affect people of all ages—from infants to older adults—and without proper treatment, it can become life-threatening. Symptoms vary depending on age and severity but may include headaches, vision problems, balance difficulties, developmental delays, cognitive changes, and more.

While there is currently no cure, early diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care can help individuals with hydrocephalus live full and meaningful lives.

That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to End Hydrocephalus—to raise awareness, support research, advocate for better treatments, and stand with the hydrocephalus community.

Every step brings us closer to a future with improved outcomes and greater hope for those affected by hydrocephalus.

Meet our 2026 Walk to End Hydrocephalus Co-Chairs! đź’™

Hannah and Taylor began their friendship in 2023 when a mutual friend connected them after learning that both of their children were born with the same neural tube defect and hydrocephalus. What started as a shared connection quickly grew into a meaningful friendship built on understanding, support, and hope.

Over the past few years, they’ve had the joy of watching their children grow up together, celebrating milestones and navigating challenges side by side. It has been one of the greatest gifts of their journey.

Now, they’re excited to bring that same sense of community to this year’s Walk to End Hydrocephalus! Together, they’re looking forward to creating an inspiring and memorable event for families, supporters, and advocates.
