đź’™ Hydrocephalus Awareness đź’™
Did you know that hydrocephalus affects approximately 1 million Americans? This serious neurological condition occurs when excess cerebrospinal fluid builds up in the brain, creating pressure that can damage brain tissue and interfere with vital functions.
Hydrocephalus can affect people of all ages—from infants to older adults—and without proper treatment, it can become life-threatening. Symptoms vary depending on age and severity but may include headaches, vision problems, balance difficulties, developmental delays, cognitive changes, and more.
While there is currently no cure, early diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care can help individuals with hydrocephalus live full and meaningful lives.
That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to End Hydrocephalus—to raise awareness, support research, advocate for better treatments, and stand with the hydrocephalus community.
Every step brings us closer to a future with improved outcomes and greater hope for those affected by hydrocephalus.
