Children's Creative Corner Children's Creative Corner (CCC) is a project of Over-the-Rhine Community Housing (OTRCH).

Any neighborhood kids ages 5 to 14 are welcomed to participate in this free art class, held every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 PM.

Last Tuesday, CCC celebrated Thanksgiving early with our annual feast. With friends old and new, and a spread of food that was nearly gone by the end of the meal, it was a truly special night. How grateful we are for this little community of kiddos, volunteers, and neighbors!

November's Kid-of-the-Month has been the wonderful Loyalty! If you ever need a good laugh, Loyalty’s your gal. She’s known for her goofy one-liners and is always an enthusiastic participant during art class. My favorite shade on Loyalty, though, is her thoughtfulness, seen in the moments when she’s hyping her siblings up, offering to help clean the dishes at the end of class, or simply reading the room's mood. Congratulations, Loyalty!

Vote YES on Issue 24 this election day! Housing is a basic human right and should be available to all. Cincinnati’s lack of affordable housing is an urgent issue that needs your attention.

Issue 24 will provide annual funding for affordable housing for the city of Cincinnati by restoring 0.3% of the earnings tax, taking our earnings tax from 1.8% to 2.1% - still the lowest earnings tax in the region. This tax restoration will cost most households less than $11/month, but will generate between $30-$50 million annually toward affordable housing.

Be a part of the solution. Vote YES on Issue 24.

October's CCC Kid-of-the-Month is none other than Kameron! While his two older siblings have been coming to art class for a while now, Kameron only just turned five over the summer, so he’s new to CCC. He is a joy to have in our program, a huge help during class, and always willing to bust out one of his signature silly faces. Congratulations, Kameron!

This past Saturday, we took a girl's trip to the Cincinnati Museum Center to explore their new exhibit, 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝: 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝. The exhibit features nearly 200 artifacts from the Smithsonian to reflect the diversity of girls' experiences and tell the stories of girls who been on the front line of social change and made history.

It was a lovely afternoon full of questions, reflection, and reminders, both about what it means to be a girl and the power we hold inside ourselves.🧡

In celebration of Cincinnati's first 'Show of Hands' puppet festival, the kids of CCC tried their hand at shadow puppetry last night. We had loads of fun crafting and telling stories with our puppets. Thank you to Visionaries and Voices for inspiring us!
