The Cincinnati Kiwanis Club has volunteered monthly at the Freestore Foodbank for the past 12 years, helping sort and bag food for distribution to needy families. We lost one of the good guys last week. Mr. Richard Hanauer has been a member of the Cincinnati Kiwanis Club since 1968, valued member of the board of the Cincinnati Kiwanis Club Foundation, Boston Marathon runner, former Air Force Captain & JAG stationed in paradise (Hawaii), accomplished dancer, senior VP at Fifth Third Bank, investment guru, writer extraordinaire, humorist, storyteller and the kindest, most optimistic person I've ever known. Dick, you've been an inspiration to me since the day we met. I'll miss you buddy.

Great news today! Babies and mothers in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been saved from death and misery inflicted by maternal and neonatal tetanus! Tetanus vaccinations save lives. We are so proud to be a member of Kiwanis International, partnering with UNICEF to raise funds to provide community education and vaccines to vulnerable populations around the world! Here’s some great news! With the help of Kiwanis International and UNICEF, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has eliminated maternal and neonatal tetanus. That means 27 countries have eliminated MNT since Kiwanis joined the fight against this horrible, but preventable disease.

Queen Bee Half Marathon - Runners' Support Station and Cheering - October 12, 7:45am-10:30am

We're cheering the Queen Bee runners and manning a runners' support station with the youth in our Builders Club and Key Club. Our club earns money for our hard work and we pass the money on to our service leadership programs! Runners get to choose their favorite cheering station and, if we're voted as a favorite, we get extra money!

Last year, we had 50 people from our club and service leadership programs cheering! And we had a potluck continental breakfast while waiting for runners thanks to your generous donations. Let's make this year just as fun!
