A new brine injection well will make Athens County the largest acceptor of chemical-laden fracking waste in Ohio. Athens County Fracking Action Network - ACFAN.org has filed an appeal to protect the community--follow them for updates.

ODNR has issued an injection well permit to K&H Partners in Troy Township, which would make Athens County the biggest fracking waste depository in the state.

Ohio’s state parks are safe from fracking after a legislative panel pulled the controversial provision on Tuesday. Almost as significant: The rare defeat of the oil and gas industry came after genuine cooperation between Democrats and Republicans in the Ohio General Assembly.
