Nothing says summer like camp! ☀️ For several years, Over-the-Rhine Community Housing has helped Cincinnati youth experience the outdoors at YMCA Camp Ernst, located in Burlington, Kentucky, through our Children's Creative Corner program. This year, we sent 17 kids to camp, along with two counselors who were once campers themselves. Take a look at a few of this summer's memorable moments!

🌟 Intern Spotlight: Meet Cree!

We're excited to welcome Cree Brock as our Children's Creative Corner (CCC) intern this summer!

Cree is entering their senior year at the University of Cincinnati, where they're studying English Education with the goal of becoming a high school teacher. Although Cree officially joined our team in May, they've been part of the OTR Community Housing family for the past three years as a dedicated CCC volunteer.

After meeting OTR Community Housing staff members Caroline and Lauren at a University of Cincinnati Engagement Fair, Cree began volunteering with field trips and weekly youth activities. As an intern, Cree has supported summer camp programming and our DJ Spin Lab, helping create engaging experiences for neighborhood kids and teens.

When asked about the most rewarding part of the internship, Cree's answer was simple: the relationships built with the youth. Cree has also enjoyed seeing how youth programming connects with the many other departments across the organization.

Outside of the internship, Cree works as a server at Losanti in Over-the-Rhine and Marigold in downtown Cincinnati. Cree's family immigrated from Hong Kong to Youngstown, Ohio, in 2015, and Cree later moved to Cincinnati to attend UC.

Thank you, Cree, for sharing your time, energy and passion with us this summer. We're grateful to have you on the team!
