The K.A.S.S.I.E. Project

The K.A.S.S.I.E. Project A non-traditional healing initiative for survivors of sexual and domestic abuse/violence. With a focus on Healing Thru The Arts, Our movement? The K.A.S.S.I.E.

SHARE... HEAL. ..LIVE... Project was created to serve as an outlet for all survivors who are striving towards and struggling with healing. Our slogan to Share… Heal… Live…. Is what I believe to be a formula to leaving a traumatic past behind. Project presents survivors with a non-clinical, non-aggressive approach to moving away from the defeated mentality of ‘victim’ into the ‘survivor’ state of m

ind. This is accomplished by connecting them with others who share the same desires and obstacles in their quest to have a successful ‘life after abuse’. During each event, survivors will be exposed to an opportunity to express themselves without being subjected to judgment or ridicule. Unlike many other Domestic Violence functions, survivors will also be presented with an opportunity to hear and understand the re-formed ‘abusers’ standpoint which will also assist in the healing process.. During our Share… Heal… Live …event, artists will present dramatic pieces directed to the challenges and situations survivors face. Survivors are also invited to share through story telling, poetry, song or whatever creative outlet they choose, even if they just choose to talk, it’s all an option ‘On the Couch with Khrys’. It’s my belief that on the road to recovery there are necessary things every survivor must strive for and achieve:
• Stop Blaming Self - Take responsibility for present and future choices.
• Stop Isolating — Connect with others and build a support network.
• Stop denying and minimizing feelings -. Learn to understand and express honestly in a healthy, supportive environment.

Please send healing energy to the family and community as we mourn. The K.A.S.S.I.E Project can never replace There JOY she always brought to every moment of our lives.

13yrs ago today I received a phone call that that took my breath away, and broke my heart. My Cassie had been "found".... found? It had been less than 24 hrs since we had last spoken. I'd just found out she was pregnant and she was going to tell him.... his response was to murder her.

Intimate Partner Violence doesn't care that it causes a chain teaction of pain. During and after it takes a life.

Did you know that since Cassies murder, there have been almost 700,000 deaths globally from domestic violence?

Today is a reminder that we have to work harder to reveal there red flags to those who are blinded by love.

I miss and love you Cassie!

Did you know? According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), 40% of people killed by their abuser tried to get help in the 2 years before death. The need for support for survivors does not stop once they’re away from said abuser. Remember to check in on your loved ones!
