Recovery friendly career fair! For those in recovery

We are saddened by the loss of a recent client of Santa Maria's, Bryan Messer. Bryan was a participant in our Education Program and received his High School Equivalency through Literacy Center West in May. Please consider supporting Bryan's funeral expenses through Go Fund Me. *Please note Santa Maria Community Services is not affiliated with Go Fund Me nor does it receive donations made through Go Fund Me. Bryan Messer a 18 year old young man, was shot and later died on the night of July 4th. Taken tragically and way too soon. He had his whole life ahead of him. He just recently Graduated and was starting to get his life together. He was a good son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend. Please help.....

Are you interested in learning to be a better employee or job candidate?

Next week the topic for Job Club will be 'Taking Initiative,' and we have a fun activity planned to go along with the presentation. As always, lunch will be provided.

Come to Literacy Center West at 12:30pm on Tuesday the 25th to take part. All Santa Maria Community Services participants are welcome to attend.

Next Tuesday on June 18th, Job Club will have a special guest from Consolidated Metal Products who will go over what it is like to work there, as well as pay and benefits, and how to apply!

This could be a potentially great opportunity for individuals looking to work within the Price Hill Community. Starting pay is $12/hr.

Lunch will be provided for this event. We hope to see you there!

Thanks to everyone who came to Job Club and participated in creating Vision Boards yesterday, we had an excellent time.

Job Club meetings take place every Tuesday from 12:30pm until 2:30pm with lunch provided. We have a lot more great activities and presentations planned for the summer so please be sure to stop in!

We have Orientation on Mondays from 9:00am-12:00pm and Wednesdays from 2:00pm-5:00pm. If you are interested in getting your High School Equivalency, getting help with Employment or some Financial Coaching, come by and see us during those times so we can help you!

Don't forget that if you refer someone ages 16-24 years old who is out of school to our program who needs help with their Education, Employment, or Financial Goals, you can receive a $50 Gift Card once they have completed enrollment!
