Click here for email addresses and phone numbers to Council members, let your voices be heard- do not vote to express your commitment to allocate 8 million to Riverbend. Allocate it to a new pool and recreation complex! Especially contact Anna Albi (her project), Ryan James, Evan Nolan, Meeka Owens, and Seth Walsh. They are voting for it.

HELP!!! Unbelievable, Cincinnati City Council is meeting today at 2pm TODAY to review and vote on contributing 8 million dollars to the Riverbend project. Amnesia!! This is after the state legislature refused 8 million due to public outcry, and the harm to the public after MEMI/CSO destroyed our access to our treasured public recreation resource aka Sunlite Pool. Meanwhile there are cuts to departments, the city needs roads, funding is being cut to police, some residents are drinking out of lead pipes. CAN ANYONE ATTEND THE MEETING? I will list email addresses in comments also, and attempt to post PDF of article. This had to have been quietly scheduled with little notice. COPY AND PASTE email addresses from comment

If you live in Anderson, please support the parks tomorrow!!!

Anderson Township’s parks are a cornerstone of life here. From concerts in the park and youth sports leagues, to senior fitness classes and peaceful walking trails, to playgrounds, skateboard parks and dog parks, they enrich our lives every day.

Very late meeting update: the Anderson community engagement meeting (to discuss plans for Beech Acres) was less formal than expected; more an open house. But look closely at the the photos with chips representing preferences.
The pool won hands down!!!

Survey-wise, the highest weight is being given to random surveys that were sent out by mail, of which 500 were returned, a good number. They have received a large number of volunteer surveys, thank you! These won’t count as much based on random survey requirements, but they are still important. The deadline for surveys is Sunday 8/24 at midnite. Encourage friends and family to fill them out, to communicate their desire for a pool!!!

Final thing, it’s very important that Park Levy passes in November. There is likely no pool without the levy. More info will be out soon. *** Let me clarify, the levy is for day to day operations of the park, like salaries and expenses, not big investmnts such as a pool. However, without funding for their operations, the district becomes significantly limited as an organization, if it would even survive. This would likely impact a lot of things moving forward, including big investments.

Thanks for your support! Beech Acres is currently our best option for a local destination pool. It’s HOT, and I know we continue to mourn Sunlite’s loss 😢 I love the Y, but sorely miss the ambience and essence of Sunlite.

Ok Swimmers, it’s down to the wire for filling out the survey, I put the link in the comments. Let’s advocate for an outdoor destination pool at Beech Acres. Anyone can fill it out, but likely Anderson Twp carries more weight. Weds July 30 is the Community Engagement Meeting, at 5:30 at the RecPlex at Beech Acres. We had an impressive showing at that fateful Twp meeting in 2024. Let’s have an equal representation for a new pool! 🏖️

AND…. COME TO THE MEETING Weds July 30, Community Engagement Survey Meeting, 5:30-7:30 at the Anderson Parks RecPlex Gym, at Beech Acres, “Residents are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts on current facilities and programs, as well as their hopes and ideas for future developments”. Important for residents, but all are welcome. Tell your Twp friends and family. We had a huge showing on that dreadful day. Let’s show up for this and show support for a pool.

Sunlite supporters and grievers, here is a survey put out by the Anderson Twp Park District to determine community interest in the development of the Beech Acres site. It’s not necessary to be a Township resident to complete it. This is your opportunity to express your interest in an outdoor pool destination, one that is accessible to our broader community! Scroll down on the link for the survey link.
