Kappa Delta- Greater Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.

The Greater Cincinnati KD Alumnae Chapter proudly supports 3 area collegiate chapters (Omega Xi chapter at UC, Gamma Nu chapter at Miami and Eta Eta chapter at NKY) and are members of the UC Greek Affairs Alumni Council (GAAC) and the Cincinnati Alumnae Panhellenic Association (CAPA). Our members are diverse in age and initiation chapter and most of our active members are also involved on Chapter

Advisory Boards and House Corporation boards advising our student leaders. The GCKDAC hosts a variety of events throughout the year including Reds game outings, dinners out, movie nights, craft events and book club activities. Most recently we hosted a 6 week online discussion series on race relations in America, reading books and watching documentaries to learn more about the struggles of our sisters of color. Our annual philanthropy project continued this holiday season as we showered the top graduates of the Lighthouse Independent Living Program with gifts for their new housing, supporting those young adults, mostly women often with children, who found themselves homeless at some point in their life. We actively attend national conventions and welcome new members living in and around the Greater Cincinnati area.

Sisters, it's almost time for 3rd Saturday Coffee! Please consider joining Jo a week from Saturday, April 25, at Cinergy, a reprised location for us. It can be found at 7242 Ohio Ave, Deer Park, 45236. We will be there 10:00-1:00; this shop closes at 2:00. Parking on street or in a few spots in front. If you can, stop by for a cup of joe and some KD sisterhood.

As you may recall, we moved the date for April (only) to 4th Saturday to avoid conflicting with State Day on the 18th; back to 3rd Saturday in May. We hope to see you there!

🍀 GCKDAC Shamrock Participation Opportunity 🍀

We'd love to have as many Sisters as possible participate in our Shamrock Project by donating items for the KD Care Packages (see the Amazon wishlist below) or by making a monetary contribution of any amount (DM for info about Venmo, PayPal, or mailing a check).

For our Shamrock Project, we again offered care packages for purchase to the parents of New Members at Omega Xi and Gamma Nu. I'm pleased to share that we have 39 orders! Each care package will include a variety of items, including school supplies, health-related items, sweet and salty snacks, KD items, homemade cookies, and a personalized note from the parents. Jo Bittner & Angie Ledgerwood will assemble and deliver them to the respective chapters for distribution the week of April 20.

80% of the proceeds stay local and will go to Council on Child Abuse of Southern Ohio, Inc., and 20% will go to PCAA.

Donations are due Sunday, April 19. I hope you'll join us by donating!

Dear Sisters,

Hoping that your spring is kicking off well!

I am reaching out in my capacity as our AC's liaison to UC's chapter to seek some end-of-semester love for our collegiate sisters of Omega Xi. As you are probably aware, I do this each end-of-semester in hopes that chapter will receive donations of (mostly 😉) healthy snacks so they know we are thinking of them during the last week of class and finals. They appreciate a variety of things; some suggestions would be tea, popcorn, sesame sticks, pretzels, chips/salsa, fruit cups, non-refrigerated pudding and jello cups, single serving snacks like mashed potatoes or meats, soup, etc.

If you are so moved, feel free to send something through a vendor such as Amazon, or if you prefer to deliver, the chapter house is at 2634 Stratford Avenue Bldg 3, next door to the SAE house. If you plan to deliver, pull in behind the house (by the retaining wall of the SAE property), and take the short walkway into Stratford Village; the KD house is the one immediately on your right.

The final week of classes starts April 20, and finals begin April 27. I would suggest delivering no later than midday Tuesday, April 28 as the number of ladies using the house decreases as that week proceeds.

Thank you for considering chapter at this busy and stress-fulled time for them.

Sisters,

We had a wonderful morning yesterday with the Omega Xi Seniors as we welcomed them into the Alumnae world with the beautiful Senior Induction ceremony. Prior to the ceremony, Senior Chair Morgan Walriven hosted a great brunch (cooked by her parents ❤️). We appreciated the special time with these ladies as they move on to their next adventures. Many thanks to the alums who joined the celebration: Brooke, Bev, Mary, Sarah, and Jo.

Hey, Everyone, we had a great time at Just Love on Colerain on the 21st. Nice place, and their corporate charity relates to adoption, so it's nice to support them. Catreece, Jillian, Megan, Jo and I were joined by Jillian's daughter (who often comes), and two friends of Catreece's. Guests are always welcome; we have had a couple of husbands in the past too!

PLEASE NOTE: We have decided to change the date of the April coffee to not conflict with TriState Day on the 18th. (That is being held "locally," in the Dayton area. These regional celebrations are always a good time.) Coffee will be the following week, April 25th, 10:00-1:00. Location is Cinergy in Deer Park. As always, we will send out a reminder prior.

Dear Sisters, as we get closer to the annual Senior Induction to the AC (just two weeks away now!), I wanted to reach out and ask if you could check your calendars to see if you can make this event. The original invitation was sent out in mid-February and may have been so early that now that it is closer, it is worth a revisit. The text of the original email is below, and the link to the invitation can be used to review all details and to RSVP.

In addition to the ceremony at 11:30 (allow about an hour), the seniors have invited us to brunch at 10:30. The anticipated menu is as follows:
Variety Pastries: Apple Turnovers, Cherry Turnovers, Cinnamon Rolls, Cinnamon Palmers, Butter Croissants, Chocolate Muffins, Blueberry Muffins, Bagels
Sides: Bacon, Sausage, Eggs
Drinks: Orange Juice, Water, and Coffee

If you are planning to attend, please include a note in your RSVP indicating if you will be attending the brunch. While last-minute response for just the ceremony is fine, desired deadline to RSVP for the brunch is extended to Monday, March 30 so the seniors can plan accordingly.
