Cincinnati Fire Fighters Union Local 48 represents the brave fire fighters of the Cincinnati Fire Department, the first fully paid professional fire department in the country (April 1, 1853). Local 48 was one of the original charter locals of the International Association of Fire Fighters, receiving our charter on February 28, 1918.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to Firehouse Shirt Club for their generous $1,000 donation to the Cincinnati Fire Fighters Charitable Fund.

Support like this goes a long way in helping us take care of our own. It’s another great example of the fire service brotherhood showing up and making a difference.

We appreciate the continued support and partnership, this is what it’s all about.

Just a reminder that the Indian Hill Rangers Hockey Tournament starts tomorrow at the Indian Hill Winter Club.

This event is for one of our own, Cincinnati Fire Fighter Ryan Zwick, who is currently battling colon cancer at just 42 years old. Ryan has always been someone people can count on, and right now he and his family could use the support.

There will be first responder teams from across the country participating, with Cincinnati Fire taking the ice tomorrow night at 1800 against Dayton Fire.

Saturday will also include a Cincinnati Cyclones Alumni All-Star game with a 3:15 PM puck drop.

Ryan and his family need our support right now. If you can attend, donate, or share the event, please do.

🚒🔥 On April 1, 1853, the Cincinnati Fire Department set the standard as the first fully paid professional fire department in the United States—truly First in the Nation.

Today, we proudly recognize 173 years of unwavering service, dedication, and tradition. Happy Birthday to the CFD! 🎉

The impact of FAO Daryl Gordon on the Cincinnati Fire Department and the members of Local 48 cannot be measured. Those of us who had the honor of knowing him and serving alongside him are better because of it. 11 years ago, our Brother gave his life in service to the citizens of Cincinnati. His legacy lives on, and he will forever be remembered as a friend, mentor, and Brother.

We will never forget the sacrifice our brother, Oscar Armstrong III, made while protecting the city we proudly serve.

Local 48 would like to ask our members, families, and the community to consider coming out and supporting this event and an incredible cause.

One of our own, Cincinnati Fire Fighter Ryan Zwick, is currently in the fight of his life at just 42 years old. Ryan is a dedicated fire fighter, a great friend, and someone who has always been there when others needed help. Right now, he and his family need the support of their fire service family and the community.

Moments like this remind us just how strong the fire service brotherhood and sisterhood truly are when we rally around one of our own.

If you’re able to attend, donate, or simply share this event, it would mean a great deal. Let’s show Ryan and his family that they are not fighting this battle alone.

Please take a moment to check out the event below and come out if you can.
