Please join us on Wednesday, February 23rd at 4:00 for the official re-naming of Classen Park to Gallagher Park. The park is located next to Old St. George, now Crossroads. They are allowing guests to park in their lot for the ceremony next door at the park. The honor is being bestowed on Paul Gallagher for a lifetime of volunteerism. He has served on several boards, including the CUF Neighborhood Association, CUF Community Fund, the Clifton Heights Re-Development Corporation and the City of Cincinnati Urban Forestry Board. However, his largest contribution has been securing, planting and caring for thousands of trees in our community. Paul, a retired firefighter, worked at Station 19 in Corryville for thirty years on a pump truck. He was born and raised in Cincinnati and has lived in the CUF community for more than 50 years.
We are so proud of his efforts to make our neighborhood a better, greener place to live. In honor of Paul’s 95th birthday, CUF had a tree planted in each of our parks-Fairview, Bellevue, Coy Field and Classen (Gallagher) to honor his legacy of tree planting. His commitment to greening our city, extends from CUF to OTR, Findlay Market and Central Parkway. He has planted, watered and pruned trees in all of these neighborhoods and continues to do so. Come celebrate our most treasured resident and the opening of Gallagher Park!
