🎉✨ BIG NEWS ALERT ✨🎉
Our very own Kathryn just passed both her Comps AND her Licensure Exam, and she officially graduates with her Master of Social Work THIS MONTH! 🌿📚

This took grit. Late nights. Courage. Coffee strong enough to power a small village. And heart — so much heart.
Watching Kathryn grow in skill, confidence, creativity, and clinical presence has been a gift. She shows up curious, grounded, compassionate, and ready to learn — that magic combo that makes this work meaningful and keeps hope alive.

And even though we are beyond proud, we’re also feeling that tender pull of joy & grief — because we’re going to be so sad to see her go. Kathryn has left fingerprints on our hearts, our clients, and this space. Her next chapter is going to be incredible, and we’re cheering wildly from the front row.

At New Adventures Counseling, we’re the only Adventure Therapy program in Greater Cincinnati — a female-created, female-led practice helping kids, teens, emerging adults, and families find their strength through movement, nature, and meaningful connection.

This work matters. And your support makes it possible.
Every $75 donated provides one scholarship session to a client who might not otherwise be able to participate in our services.
Every dollar helps us offer sliding scale options, pro bono sessions, and accessible care rooted in compassion and community.

💚 2025 Heart of Adventure Therapy Award Announcement 💚

This year’s Heart of Adventure Therapy Award goes to someone who has embodied the spirit of our field long before there was ever an award to honor it — Dr. Terry Williams.

From founding The Children Are Our Future, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to empowering professionals through mentorship, coaching, and sponsorship, to teaching Adventure and Eco Therapy nationwide, Terry’s impact runs deep. Her influence can be seen in the countless practitioners and programs she’s helped launch — all centered around connection, compassion, and justice.

Whether she’s planning regional conferences, supporting a colleague’s workshop, or offering a hug and a high five to anyone in her orbit, Terry leads with heart. She has spent her life advocating for JEDI-B principles, uplifting others, and modeling what it means to truly live adventure therapy.

As one nominator shared: “Terry has had the heart of adventure therapy long before there was an award. She’ll say she doesn’t deserve it — that she was just doing what was right, what was needed, what was good. But we know the truth: Terry is the heart of adventure therapy.”

Thanks to our incredible donors, New Adventures now has a Community Membership that opens the trails, woods, and wild spaces to our clients + families. 💚

✨ More access for folx who otherwise couldn’t be here
✨ More healing under the trees 🌳

WOW! In just one hour yesterday, we reached our goal!

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already secured the Cincinnati Nature Center membership.

From here on out, every additional dollar raised will go directly toward making our services accessible for those who otherwise could not afford them. Every $75 beyond our initial $300 goal provides a full session for someone in need.
