The Hip Hop Congress provides the Hip Hop Generation and the Post Hip Hop Generation with the tools, resources and opportunities to make social, economic and political change on a local, regional and national level. Hip Hop Congress is the product of a merger of artists and students, music and community. In Cincinnati we currently run a Community, University and High School Chapters.

Catch the founder of Cincinnati chapter of Hip Hop Congress standing in solidarity with Palestine with his poetry and spoken word in
Hakiym Sha'ir has been a community activist since his youth in the late 90s having received awards for activism from civil rights lawyer Morris Dee and Rosa Parks, later helping organize and open a youth center called Elementz Cincinnati for at risk youth ages 14-24. He also was a Ohio delegate at the 2004 &2006 Hip Hop political conventions and frequented the allied media conference at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan.
Artistically he has worked with Grammy nominated and Grammy winning spoken word artist also running a successful spoken Word showcase in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2003 to 2015 call the lyrical insurrection.
Catch him December 15 reading new works and hear about his forthcoming work.
