cheon. WHGC belongs to the following garden club organizations - National Garden Clubs, Garden Club of Ohio, Inc., and Federated Garden Clubs of Cincinnati and Vicinity. We are an award-winning club receiving State and National recognition for our flower shows, volunteer projects, Newsletter, and Yearbook. Our members volunteer at several area gardens including a perennial garden at Western Hills Country Club, four gardens at the Delhi Historical Society Farmhouse, a garden at St. Joseph New Cemetery, an herb garden at the Delhi Floral Paradise Gardens, and a Tower Garden at Our Lady of Lourdes School. Our Therapy Garden Committee also volunteers at the Rothenberg Rooftop School Garden, Bethany House (a shelter for homeless women and those seeking a safe haven from an abusive home), Joseph House (a progressive treatment facility serving veterans affected by addiction and homelessness), and Three Rivers Senior Center. Our newest project is providing support for the New Hope Community Gardens. Besides the annual WHGC Flower Show, our members volunteer for and take part in Art in Bloom at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Cincinnati Flower Show, the Harvest Home Fair Flower Show, the Hamilton County Fair Flower Show, and Bloomin’ Arts at Mount St. Joseph University. Each year members volunteer at the Arbor Day Observance with the Ohio Valley Forestry Fellowship and at the Butterfly Show at the Krohn Conservatory during its two-month run. Other garden club activities include a very popular members-only garden tour of one of its members’ gardens in the summer. The club conducts a yearly day-long trip to visit gardens of interest in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky. In November, the club holds a fundraiser to benefit the Garden and Flower Show Fund. The sale includes Foods from the Garden, Raffle Baskets, and Craft Vendors. The club donates to the National Garden Clubs Penny Pines, Garden Club of Ohio, Inc.
