We are excited to see Sean Walton Jr. step into his new role as President of the NAACP Chapter in CBUS. We look forward to the transformative impact this young brother will continue to make in CBUS and across Ohio. As a civil rights attorney, engaged citizen, devoted family man, and community advocate, Sean has consistently demonstrated through his actions that he is committed to uplifting our people.

Zakiya Sankara-Jabar has been doing the work for years in Dayton and beyond, tirelessly advocating for justice, accountability, and empowerment. And the legendary Iris Roley has been holding it down in Cincinnati for decades, leading with courage, unapologetic conviction, and unwavering dedication. We have admired her work from afar for many years.

To Sean, Zakiya, and Iris, thank you for the sacrifices, service, and commitment you continue to make for our communities, often without the recognition, appreciation, or support you deserve.

Ohio is home to some powerful leaders doing real work every day.

Don't play with Ohio. πŸ”₯

Big news for New York’s Haitian community: Haitian American Edwin Raymond has been appointed New York City Sheriff by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Raymond spent years speaking out against controversial policing practices within the NYPD, even taking legal action over racial quotas.

Now, the former NYPD lieutenant and son of Haitian immigrants is stepping into one of the city's most powerful law enforcement roles.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS!!!🚨
A Major Change is Coming to Mortgage Lending & Credit Scoring!

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac have officially announced the adoption of NEW credit scoring models for mortgage underwriting.

βœ… FHA will now allow:
β€’ VantageScore 4.0
β€’ FICO 10T

βœ… Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac are also moving forward with these updated scoring models.

Why does this matter? πŸ‘‡
These newer models are designed to:
🏑 Expand access to homeownership
πŸ“ˆ Better evaluate today’s borrowers
πŸ’³ Recognize responsible payment behaviors like rent history
πŸ’° Potentially lower borrowing barriers for qualified buyers

This could create NEW opportunities for many future homeowners who may not have qualified under older scoring systems.

As Realtists, this is another important step toward increasing ACCESS, ADVOCACY & AFFORDABILITY in housing.

πŸ“Stay informed. Stay prepared. Stay ready to educate your clients.

A bipartisan group of Ohio lawmakers wants to know how private schools are using taxpayer dollars, but Republican leadership likely won't require the EdChoice program to have more transparency.

For the past several years, Ohio leaders have given billions of taxpayer dollars to nonpublic schools using the EdChoice voucher program.

In the last budget, EdChoice recieved $2.5 billion. But it is unclear where that money actually goes.
