Just a friendly reminder that there are only 24 hours left to take advantage of Early Bird pricing for the St. Andrew’s Day Ball!
Beginning October 8, tickets will move to the standard rate, so if you’re planning to join us, now is the time to reserve your seats and save $20 per ticket.
There is also only about one week remaining to reserve a room at our discounted group rate of $119 per night at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. If you’re considering making a night of it, be sure to secure your room soon.

We sometimes get requests about getting kilts altered. Does anyone have a place in the Cincinnati area where they go for alterations? Celtic Corner is no longer an option but perhaps a local tailor has been useful, please share any recommendations in the comments.

The label for our 200th anniversary wh***ey had several great entrees. The design picked is based on the new logo and also features an expanded view of the Cincinnati Skyline.

The deep blue background, aged ivory artwork and gold detailing were chosen to give the label the character of an old illuminated document or heraldic artifact, while the subtle embossed texture adds richness appropriate for a special bicentennial release.

Wording may vary depending on the needs of the bottler at RJ Cinema and will be adjusted accordingly. The design was created by Jeff Craig.

The logo picked in our contest is a clean, contemporary design that brings together symbols of Scotland and Greater Cincinnati.

At its heart is the thistle, which has represented Scotland’s resilience, strength and fierce independence for centuries. As Scotland’s national flower, it has appeared throughout Scottish culture, government, the military and sports. The thistle appeared on Scottish silver coins during the reign of James III in the 15th century.

On either side of the thistle, two familiar landmarks represent our region: the Roebling Suspension Bridge and the Cincinnati skyline. The view across the Ohio River is from Kentucky, creating a connection between the two states that are home to most of our members.

An unbroken Celtic knot encircles the design, symbolizing continuity, connection and the enduring bonds of our Scottish heritage.

The logo was also designed to be adaptable. Expanded versions can incorporate elements such as a sword, common in Scottish clan crests, or heraldic animals such as lions, unicorns and leopards. The Society’s name can be placed around the circle or incorporated into a banner depending on its use.

Overall, the logo tells a story of Scottish heritage and pride firmly rooted in our new homeland of Greater Cincinnati.

The Founders Day Picnic / Corn Roast was a good time had by all. This year athletes gave a demo in heavy events. We were joined as always by the Cincinnati Caledonian Pipeband and Cincinnati Highland Dancers. Thanks to all who turned out on a pleasant Saturday afternoon.
