Very proud of these young scholars who all have promising futures ahead.

Please join the Cincinnati Affiliate of NABCJ and support the "His Story-Black Men's Mental Health Mixer" to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 6:30-9 pm at Copa - 1133 Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, OH.

This free event will be a night of healing as you will witness stories black men and how the have successfully dealt with trauma and healing

*6:30-7:00pm: Book signing by award winning author Mitch Harris “Analyzing the Black Box: Bullying & Depression amongst African American Youth”

*7:00-8:00pm: Guest speakers Jay Rodge, Don Lee, Yosiah, Johnson, Quincy Dennis, Carlos Tuck, and Christopher Smith.

*8-9:00pm: Panel discussion and Q&A with licensed therapists: Erick Hollie, Lauren White, David Brand, and Lawrence McNickles.

The Cincinnati Affiliate is proud to announce the winner of the affiliate’s scholarship that was awarded at the state conference.

Kevonyah Edwards is a member of the Cincinnati Affiliate where she has served as Secretary, on the state’s nominating committee, and has been instrumental in many volunteer activities. She has been a driving force in our youth mentor projects, criminal justice initiatives as well as a key contributor for our main fundraiser with Aramark.

She is very passionate about ensuring that people of color are treated fairly and equitably which led her to continue to further her educaction. Her dedication for the institution of justice as she pursues her Doctorate of Social Work degree at the prestigious Columbia University in New York. We are very proud of her and all her achievements, and can’t wait to address her as Dr. Edward’sin the near future.

Congratulations Kevonyah and know we are proud of you!

The Cincinnati Affiliate would like to congratulate the following members for career changes.
Pamela Carroll-Dean has accepted the position of Program Manager - Enhanced Living at Graceworks. Nicole Williams will start her new position of Director of Residential Services for the YWCA in a few weeks. Diana Lynne Pearson has also accepted a new position as Executive Director of The Recovery Center of Ohio - Dayton location.

Educationally, we would also like to congratulate Alexis Piphus for being accepted into the graduate school of Social Work at Walden University. Kevonyah Edwards (Ke-Lolo Tranelle) will continue her educational goals by pursing her doctorate degree in Social Work at Columbia University.

We are so proud of our NABCJ members who continue to do great things!

The NABCJ Family is wrapping our arms around our Cincinnati Affiliate Vice Chair Nicole Williams and her family as they mourn the losses of 3 family members over a 2 week span.
On 9/4/2020, her 28 year old cousin, Dominique Davis was murdered; her 90 year old grandfather, Alonzo Jones, Sr. passed away on 9/16/2020; and on 9/18/2020, Danaja Throne, 10 years old and Nicole’s niece, was accidentally shot and killed in Finneytown.
Please keep Nicole and her family in your continued prayers as one loss is too many, but three are just unbearable. Ohio Chapter - National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice
