A Full House SPG4: 2nd Annual Poker Night
A huge thank you to the Still Water Community and all our friends who joined us on March 28, 2026, for our Second Annual Poker Night Fundraiser.

Yash and I kicked off the evening with a heartfelt thank you to our players, followed by an update on our fight against SPG4, an ultra-rare neurodegenerative disease. The room was moved by a powerful two-minute video that Maurya made, which perfectly captured the reality of SPG4 and the cutting-edge research currently underway.

The Winners:
The competition was fierce but friendly! After a night of strategic plays, we crowned our top three tournament winners. We kept the momentum going with a lively raffle that saw many of our guests taking home some incredible prizes.

Gratitude:
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our community. A special thank you to:

Our Event Sponsors: and Edward Jones

Today is Rare Disease Day. It has been nearly seven years since our son, Maurya Koduri, was diagnosed with SPG4, an ultra-rare disease.

Since that day, our mission has been clear: raise global awareness and fuel the scientific research needed to find a cure. Every dollar invested in science brings us one step closer to changing the lives of Maurya and many other children facing this diagnosis.

Scientific progress doesn't happen in a vacuum—it happens because of community support. If you’re able, please consider joining our mission.

Maurya is already wheelchair bound, but the progressive nature of SPG4—an ultra-rare disease—is rapidly affecting his remaining mobility. After exhausting every pediatric physical and occupational therapy option available, we are turning to a new frontier: G-EO Robot-assisted Gait Therapy from REHA Technology at . Despite these extreme challenges, Maurya’s resilience, curiosity, and infectious smile and intelligence are what keep us moving forward!

The SPG4 community has reached a significant milestone, and we owe this milestone to a powerful network of support. We offer our sincere thanks to the visionary researchers at Drexel University College of Medicine and UMass Chan Medical School for their tireless work and the publication of this pivotal study. We also want to recognize our fellow fundraising families; our shared commitment is the engine driving this progress. To our donors and advocates: thank you for believing in this vision. Together, we have moved one step closer to a future without SPG4. Here is the link for National Library of Medicine Publication- https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41311060/

We are happy to announce that Maurya Koduri is enrolled into the Spastic Paraplegia Centers of Excellence Research Network (SPCERN) Natural History Study Pilot at the 's Hospital Medical Center on December 11, 2025. Maurya is the first patient in NORTH AMERICA for this pilot study. With this study, researchers will find out more about the signs and symptoms and HSP in its early stages with its progression. This information will help facilitate early diagnosis, enable counseling and anticipatory guidance to families and help develop a TREATMENT for HSP in the future. This study also aims to support critical research infrastructure for collaborative high-quality research on HSP in North America and beyond. So thankful to the principal investigator Dr.Donald Gilbert and Clinical Research Coordinator Karlee Migneault. Please consider supporting our foundation that is dedicated for RESEARCH and CURE. Thank you!

November 11, 2025 - Maurya Koduri Foundation today announced new funding to ensure the preservation of a rare, naturally occurring SPG4 cattle model housed at Hillcrest Farm. This unique large-animal herd is an essential resource, providing insights into SPG4 pathology that cannot be replicated in smaller models such as mice. By preserving this model, the Foundation keeps open a vital research pathway necessary for scientists to refine and test potential treatments.

Maurya Koduri Foundation is proud to collaborate with The Lilly and Blair Foundation and Cure SPG4 Foundation in this crucial effort for SPG4 research. Your support ensures progress continues. Please consider donating at www.mauryakoduri.org. Thank you!
