Peer influence is one of the strongest behavioral factors during adolescence and young adulthood.
Research shows students are significantly more likely to engage in risky behavior when unhealthy choices become normalized within friend groups. At the same time, positive peer environments can improve confidence, emotional well-being, and decision-making.
Healthy friendships should never require:
• compromising personal values
• unsafe behavior
• substance use
• pretending to be someone else to feel accepted
Students deserve friendships built on respect, encouragement, and healthy boundaries.
Real confidence is staying grounded in who you are, even when pressure exists.
