Our residents enjoy a quality of life that includes attending a Hamilton county special education school or adult workshop, or for our youngest or too medically fragile residents, staying on campus to attend St.

Last Saturday, something really special happened in Downtown Sharonville β€” and we're still smiling about it.

The Howdy Neighbors Plants for a Purpose sale was their most successful yet. Despite a threatening forecast and an early morning downpour, the community showed up in full force. In just 5 hours:

🌿 80+ plants found new homes
πŸ’š $1,500+ raised β€” all net proceeds to Saint Joe's
πŸͺ΄ Every single plant was home-grown by the Howdy Neighbors team
🎨 Beautiful hand-painted pots, crafted by our Day Program staff and participants, flew off the tables!

A huge thank you to the alReddy Cafe family for opening their space and going above and beyond with their round-up-the-check promotion all week long.

What started as a driveway sale has grown into a real, meaningful fundraiser β€” and that's entirely because of a community that believes in showing up for one another. We are so grateful. πŸ’™

Feature Friday πŸ’™

Big news from our green space β€” and we have some very special partners to thank!

Thanks to the generous support of the Michael Ibold Wilger Foundation and GE Aerospace Community Service Fund, we are bringing a new adaptive wheelchair swing to Saint Joe's! 🌳

This isn't just any swing. It's designed to hold a wheelchair securely, so our residents can experience the simple, joyful feeling of swinging β€” fresh air, movement, and a little bit of magic β€” right in our own backyard.
This swing was made possible by grants from the Michael Ibold Wilger Foundation and GE Aerospace Community Service Fund. We are so grateful to both organizations for seeing the value in enriching the everyday lives of the people we serve.

To our friends at β€” thank you for your continued commitment to our community and to making possibility a reality for our residents. It has truly been a pleasure partnering with you. πŸ’™

Stay tuned β€” we can't wait to show you this incredible new addition in action!

Wisdom Wednesday πŸ’™

We mailed out our Spring Appeal a few weeks ago, and the response was incredible!

Nearly 100 gifts came in totaling $24,900 β€” all in support of children like Journee and the compassionate team that cares for her every day.

If you gave, thank you. Because of supporters like you, Saint Joe's gets to be the kind of place where a little girl rolls over for the first time and has a whole room full of people cheering her on.

Thank you for choosing to be part of what we do here. πŸ’™

πŸ’™ Mission Monday: Employee Spotlight β€” Hi, I'm Vanessa!

If you've read a story on our website, liked a social post, or opened one of our emails or donor appeals… hi, that's me! πŸ‘‹

I'm Vanessa Schutte, Saint Joe's Marketing & Communications Manager β€” and this April, I celebrated my one-year anniversary here. I handle all things marketing: advertising, our website, content and social media, communications, and working closely with our Advancement team on everything supporter-facing, from appeals and campaigns to donor emails. Basically, if it has words and a Saint Joe's logo on it, it probably crossed my desk. πŸ˜„

I came to Saint Joe's from a corporate marketing background β€” brand strategy and ex*****on for companies like P&G, Newell, and most recently Gorilla Glue, where I spent five+ years on their international team. The move to nonprofit was something I'd always had in the back of my mind, and honestly, making that leap was one of the things I'm most proud of. Saint Joe's felt right from the start β€” this place is truly about community, and I feel that every day.

Outside of work, I'm a proud Cincinnati girl! Married, with two kids (10 & 11 β€” in absolutely every sport imaginable πŸ…). We're a Bengals, Reds, Xavier basketball, FC Cincinnati household through and through. And in the fall and holiday season, you might just find me at a local market selling my handmade candles. πŸ•―οΈ

So glad to be part of this mission β€” and grateful to help tell its story. πŸ’™

✨ Feature Friday ✨

There’s ALWAYS something fun happening in our Adult Day Programs!

The bunnies made another special visit β€” this time hopping over to our Blue Ash Day Program! 🐰 Participants also enjoyed a visit from Ensemble Theater, which continues to be a favorite activity filled with laughter, creativity, and connection. 🎭

And sometimes the best moments are the simple ones β€” like heading out together to enjoy some fries with friends!🍟

Meanwhile at our Sharonville Day Program, participants have been hard at work hand-painting flower pots that will be available for purchase at tomorrow’s plant sale! 🌼 We hope you’ll stop by and support their amazing work.

Every week brings new experiences, community connections, and plenty of smiles along the way.
Have a great weekend!

Mission Monday πŸ’™

We're giving a shoutout to May We Help today β€” an extraordinary nonprofit partner making independence possible for people with disabilities right here in our community.

May We Help's team of skilled volunteers β€” engineers, designers, woodworkers, therapists, and more β€” come together to design and build custom, one-of-a-kind devices for people with disabilities, all at no cost to recipients. When the right solution doesn't exist in the marketplace, they simply build it. πŸ”¨

We are so appreciative of the numerous times May We Help has stepped up for Saint Joe's β€” generously donating custom devices that have made a real difference in the lives of those we serve. Their kindness and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for this partnership. πŸ™
