GlobeMed at University of Cincinnati

GlobeMed at University of Cincinnati Students working to enhance the movement for global health equity These programs aim to help HIV/AIDS victims, human-trafficking victims, orphans, etc.

GlobeMed at UC was founded in the fall of 2011, and is partnered with a healthcare organization, Social Action for Women (SAW), in Mae Sot, Thailand. SAW works to provide better healthcare for Burmese refugees who live as migrant workers, operating almost 25 different internal programs. and also provide education to children of all ages. Together, we create healthcare programs and budgets that wil

l help create sustainable change. Not only do we raise the funds on campus to implement said programs, but we also strive to raise awareness about both local and global health issues and social injustices. We have since raised over $20,000 for SAW, and have sent 10 members to Mae Sot to observe the implementation of our Community Health Outreach Program!
