Meet our new Violinist and Teacher, Jacqueline Kitzmiller!
Heralded for her āsweetness of tone, maturity, and daunting techniqueā (Cincinnati Enquirer), Jacqueline Kitzmiller made her debut with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at the age of eighteen and has since continued to perform across the United States, Europe, and Asia. She has been a participant in numerous national and international music festivals including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Interlochen Arts Center, and the Tanglewood Music Center.
An avid devotee of chamber music, Jacqueline served as a member of the Azure Quartet from 2013-14, during which they took second prize at the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition. She received a Bachelor of Music from Rice University and a Master of Music from Indiana University, where she also served as a Graduate Assistant Instructor. Her principal teachers have included Gabriel Pegis, Paul Kantor, and Alexander Kerr.
Jacqueline currently holds the position of Principal Second Violin of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, and previously served as a member of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. She performs regularly with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
A firm believer in the integral link between classical music and community, Jacqueline independently organized a free, outdoor performance of Stravinskyās Lāhistoire du Soldat in 2020 at Cincinnatiās Mount Storm Park in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, she organized āA Sunday for Sarah,ā an afternoon of chamber music featuring current and former members of the Cincinnati Symphony, to benefit the Cincinnati Alzheimerās Association, and in memory of her mother and brilliant musician, Sarah Kitzmiller, who passed away from Early-Onset Alzheimerās 2018.
When Jacqueline is not playing violin, she enjoys reading, swimming, and listening to podcasts with her two cats and retired racing greyhound, Clementine.
