During WWII, Victory gardens were created across America, including the WhiteHouse. This was done in an effort to pull the strain from logistics and mass production to focus on war building.

Today, with the out of control inflation rates, it just might be time for more Victory Gardens! If you want to learn about gardening, spend time with Lemuel Yashobeam Israel and Ace!

The growth continues!!!! The 3Thumbz Up, LLC Community Garden Branch Hill Ohio VFW Post 5354 is starting to take its final steps…..

What started as a dream, then a conversation has lead to where we are at today.

Help us wrap things up before the Pots N Slots at The Loveland Canteen this Saturday as we place the rest of the plants into the ground.

Volunteers needed to Wednesday and Thursday to finish up a few parts of the puzzle.

This week is a busy week as we get ready for Pots N Slots event this weekend at The Loveland Canteen

Below is our schedule of work. If you would like to volunteer, just come on over or shoot us a message

Monday- Gather more wood and gas clippings to fill bottoms of last of the beds.
Use remaining soil to fill more beds
Till the planted ground section. Tiller will arrive at 1PM.

Tuesday- place last section of fence and attach to posts
Weedeat around uncovered areas
Build tunnel trellis
Receive last load of soil/ composite and fill rest of beds

Wednesday- dig out 10ft of circle 6 inches deep for table/ education meditation area
Dig footers for IBC store stands
Use remaining soil on tilled area and beds

Thursday- make stands with tires: concrete and posts
Finish circle area
Ensure all black w**d mat is laid down

Friday- taking a break!!! Any items not completed during the week will be handled this day

Saturday- come out to the Pots N Slots event!!! Bring your family and just enjoy

Victory Gardens were a way to alleviate strain in supply chain. Gardening is more that what one might think.

It’s only appropriate to partner with Branch Hill Ohio VFW Post 5354 to build, grow and flourish with the community

Victory gardens became (and remain) an iconic image of life on the Home Front during World War II.

The vision continues…. Fencing should be completed this week.

Next week we will be completing the beds. If you’d like to help, drop us a message! This is going to be the best garden of the area because of those whom support it.

18,000 Lbs of fine soil
6,000 Lbs Composte
5 Cisterns 400 Gallon
37 2x12x8 Treated boards
34 Cubic Yards of Mulch
8 Rolls of 6x100 Black w**d mat
8x12 GreenHouse
