Take a look back at Lotus Collective Cincy’s PAINT & SIP 🎨🍷 fundraiser to revive the “Food is Our Love Language” mural at Findlay Market, outside of Saigon Market!

Asianati originally commissioned the mural for AAPI Heritage Month Cincinnati back in 2021, with the original design created by local artist Anissa Pulcheon! Lotus Collective reached out to us with a plan to refresh the mural and introduce an updated design by local AAPI mural artists Anissa, Chunk, and Jazz, and we are thrilled to partner with them! 🖼️

Ahead of the Paint & Sip, we launched an online campaign to raise $2,000 for supplies and to support the artists. Thanks to your generosity, we exceeded our goal, raising $2,765! The additional $765 will be donated to Ignite Peace.

At the Paint & Sip fundraiser, over 50 supporters met in the artists’ studio in Northside to paint the new design on mural cloth and sign their names to the art! ✨

This month, the artists will complete the painting, with plans to install the refreshed “Food is Our Love Language” mural at the beginning of June. 🧡 More details to come!

Here’s a look back at this past weekend’s exciting events:

1️⃣ continued their ‘Saturdays at Findlay Market’ free arts and crafts series! This weekend’s event was making Mother’s Day cards; stop by next weekend for Origami Paper Folding! 🎨

2️⃣ hosted their Sunday Afternoon Riichi event at from 1 PM - 6PM. Shoutout to their team for being awesome teachers! 🀄️
Join them next on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 24, back at Element Eatery for more beginner-friendly open play!

3️⃣ hosted A Taste of China event in partnership with and the Ohio Wushu Academy! They demonstrated traditional Chinese martial arts, a Lion dance, and a tai chi workshop, and offered Chinese food tastings from .

We launched May’s AAPI Heritage Month with an action-packed first weekend! 🎉🏮✨

1️⃣ hosted an opening reception for their Abstraction art exhibit at ! 🎨

2️⃣ also launched their first free arts and crafts event in the ‘Saturdays at Findlay Market’ series. Last weekend featured Traditional Chinese calligraphy, while next Saturday will offer Mother’s Day card making! ✍🏽

3️⃣ finished their AAPI Night tifo painting this weekend! The tifo was designed by local AAPI artists and — and we can’t wait for you to see it! Be sure to catch the official reveal at ’s AAPI Night on May 23rd! ⚽️

4️⃣ To top it off, introduced their first-ever Vietnamese coffee pop-up at ! Experience their delicious Vietnamese coffees and more at their Montgomery Road restaurant. ☕️
