Hoyt braved the Windy City a few weeks ago. We received lots of information, and new opinions. Hoyts care is officially being transferred to Lurie Children’s hospital of Chicago, rated first for their heart transplant team in the nation. I can’t thank the teams at Cincinnati enough for the past 3 years of their time and experience, and I feel very thankful our location allows us to travel to other instituions. Our guy is complex, and that’s ok. He’s out here still living his best life no matter what 😏

Only my fellow heart moms knows the millions of emotions that flood in when kindergarten rolls around. The countless hours of worrying about the “unknown” the past 5 years makes moments like this so worth it. What another life achievement for my guy. I’m so proud. Big brother showed him the ropes this morning! 🥲✏️❤️💙

A very eventful trip to say the least! Lots of laughs 💕 these two had a blast!

Update on Hoyt: doctors are stressed that Hoyt hasn’t received a heart yet. We have exhausted most options to keep him from getting “bluer” (declining more) and they have introduced us to the idea of dual listing. We will be reaching out to Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and Pittsburg Children’s Hospital and their transplant teams will be doing an evaluation and case study on Hoyt’s case. I don’t know much about Chicago, so I have a lot of research to do. Hoyts team in Cincinnati have already had discussions with Surgeons they are affiliated with in Chicago, and have reassured me they have a great team there. I have already researched Pittsburg in the past, and they are ranked #4 in nation in the cardiac and transplant departments so that would be our first choice. Hoyt will be listed at either Chicago or Pittsburg (only one will be chosen) and Cincinnati. Whoever we get a call from first with an organ available, is where we will go. The clock is ticking, and we are so lucky to have a team that knows Hoyt so well. It is a true blessing that Cincinnati has looked at all options before we are stuck in the hospital for an unknown amount of time waiting on an organ. They truly want what’s best for our family & Hoyt and that means so much. Hopefully with being listed at two institutions, we will get a call for an organ in a short amount of time. 💙

Tomorrow marks 3 years (or 1,095 days) of Hoyt being listed for a heart transplant. 2 years, of being on the higher end of the list as a 1B. Hoyt did have some changes in his cardiac MRI he had in November. His medical teams have been discussing a plan since. Next week, Hoyt gets to take his friend Lainey with him to Cincinnati & we find out what the future plan for transplant will be! I’m so excited that he gets to finally show someone the “hostible” he goes too 💕 this year, will be our year for a transplant, hopefully🫶🏻
