A marvelous performance! At Concert No. 6, the Albatross Trio captivated the audience with their energy and impeccable ensemble playing. New works by Kang and Luo received a successful world premiere. Our concert recording is on its way—stay tuned!

Concert No. 6 sparked many meaningful connections. From performers engaging with new works, to collaborations between performers and composers, to shared moments between musicians and audiences, new relationships began to flourish.

Glow Music continues to break boundaries and support young artists who are eager to connect with audiences.

Louise Farrenc was a phenomenal pianist, successful composer, and highly effective teacher. However, as a woman in 1820s Paris, she could not take part in formal composition classes, so she took private lessons with Anton Reicha. She later earned the position of Professor of Piano at the Paris Conservatoire but was paid less than her male counterparts. After the huge success of her Nonet, she demanded and received equal pay. Today, we pay tribute to the talented and brave women of our time who are standing up for their values.

Our annual concert in April will feature her brilliant Trio for flute, cello, and piano. Come out to First Unitarian to hear our trio’s rendition!

Meet Our Artist 🌟 We have the fearless María José Milano who stepped in to form a new trio of flute, cello, and piano for our spring concert. Glow Music is so fortunate to have María with us. You all should come out in April to hear her!

María José is a Venezuelan flutist whose career spans orchestral, chamber, and solo performances. She was awarded the prestigious Gifted Tuition Scholarship from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation in 2021 and won the William H. Grass Memorial Prize at the 42nd James Pappoutsakis Flute Competition.

Her performances have taken her around the world, collaborating with musicians from diverse backgrounds and reflecting her belief in music’s ability to connect cultures and foster meaningful exchanges.

María José holds an Undergraduate Diploma degree from the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Boston, Massachusetts, and is currently pursuing her Masters degree at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.
