11 members from the Gen Henry “Hap” Arnold Squadron all traveled to Dallas, Texas for WildWestCon 2026. Huge congratulations to AAS C/Col Colin Blake for his contribution and outstanding efforts as the National Chief of Protocol Executive Officer!

This year’s NATCON had a multitude of distinguished visitors including the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General Kenneth S. Wilsbach and Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force David R. Wolfe.

Our Squadron was able to network with cadets from other squadrons and detachments across the nation. It was an experience that no one will ever forget.

Our new Joint National Project for 2026-2027 is Natural Disaster Relief along with our newly appointed National Commander, AAS C/Brig Gen Nick Dungan from UVA.

We are excited to see where the new leadership will take our organization and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again at PENTACON 2027!!!

Over the course of this semester, candidates have gone through rigorous training, honing in on their abilities to work as a team. The candidates are preparing for their Friday Night Special (FNS) coming up in TWO WEEKS! These pictures preview what the candidates and actives have been doing at PT on Wednesday mornings. The last picture shows a shoutout to AAS C/1st LT Allen, repping his spirit with a UC football.

Alright, lets get this started! Over the past three weeks, candidates have undergone extensive training, focusing on warrior knowledge (WK), preparing for the national test, and honing in on the skills they have learned that they’ll utilize during their Friday Night Special (FNS). This week, candidates and actives participated in a campus loop here at the University of Cincinnati. They played handball reinforcing their communication skills, verbiage, and attention to detail. They worked together as a team to complete their propellers and continue getting their signatures.

We have three HAP’s of the week below! 👇

-HAP of the week goes to one our amazing CTOA’s Cadet Brand! 🥳

This past week, the candidates focused on enhancing their knowledge, time-hack skills, and attention to detail, specifically regarding falling in/out and standardization. They participated in a handball game and engaged in a workout organized by C/Rios, our Physical Fitness Officer (PFO). Additionally, candidates must collaborate as a team to paint assigned propellers. Go Haps!!

With summer coming to an end and school approaching, some of the actives from Detachment665 would like to share their summers with you! Below the cadets were kind enough to write a paragraph about their adventures!

Slide 1: Hi, my name is Alexis Holmes and I am currently doing Project GO as a rising 200 in Meknes a city in Morocco. During my time here I have been learning Modern Standard Arabic as well as the Moroccan dialect called Dirija.  I have had the opportunity to explore all that the country and culture has to offer!!

Slide 2 : Hi! My name is Peyten Plymesser, I am the Public Affairs Officer for Arnold Air Society and am also an AS200 majoring in business marketing at the University of Cincinnati. This summer I spent as much time as I could with family, friends and my cat. I also got the oppurtunity to get flights hours with the You Can Fly program! This summer has taught me to live in the moment and soak up all the time you have. The one thing I am most excited about going back to school is meeting new faces!

Slide 3 : Hello, my name is Hannah Burkett and I'm an AS 200 this coming year. I will be the DO for Region VI. I'm a sophomore nursing major at the University of Cincinnati. I enjoy videogames, comics, tea, baking, and gardening. I'm super excited for this upcoming year!

Slide 4 : Hey! My name is Zane Moeller and over this summer I spent time with my friends, racing drones, and enjoying time off of school. I was lucky enough to participate in Combat Survival Training at USAFA where I learned critical skills that will help me return home with honor in the event that I become an isolated person during my future career in the Air Force. I met other AFROTC cadets, and got to integrate with the Academy cadets as we spent time together in the Pinion Canyon Maneuvering Site, at Kettle Lake doing water survival, and climbing to the top of Eagle's Peak. It was challenging and energizing to experience a more focused training environment that I am not accustomed to with a new set of people that have vastly different experiences than I do. I finished the course with new friends and a level B SERE course certification.
