With summer coming to an end and school approaching, some of the actives from Detachment665 would like to share their summers with you! Below the cadets were kind enough to write a paragraph about their adventures!
Slide 1: Hi, my name is Alexis Holmes and I am currently doing Project GO as a rising 200 in Meknes a city in Morocco. During my time here I have been learning Modern Standard Arabic as well as the Moroccan dialect called Dirija. I have had the opportunity to explore all that the country and culture has to offer!!
Slide 2 : Hi! My name is Peyten Plymesser, I am the Public Affairs Officer for Arnold Air Society and am also an AS200 majoring in business marketing at the University of Cincinnati. This summer I spent as much time as I could with family, friends and my cat. I also got the oppurtunity to get flights hours with the You Can Fly program! This summer has taught me to live in the moment and soak up all the time you have. The one thing I am most excited about going back to school is meeting new faces!
Slide 3 : Hello, my name is Hannah Burkett and I'm an AS 200 this coming year. I will be the DO for Region VI. I'm a sophomore nursing major at the University of Cincinnati. I enjoy videogames, comics, tea, baking, and gardening. I'm super excited for this upcoming year!
Slide 4 : Hey! My name is Zane Moeller and over this summer I spent time with my friends, racing drones, and enjoying time off of school. I was lucky enough to participate in Combat Survival Training at USAFA where I learned critical skills that will help me return home with honor in the event that I become an isolated person during my future career in the Air Force. I met other AFROTC cadets, and got to integrate with the Academy cadets as we spent time together in the Pinion Canyon Maneuvering Site, at Kettle Lake doing water survival, and climbing to the top of Eagle's Peak. It was challenging and energizing to experience a more focused training environment that I am not accustomed to with a new set of people that have vastly different experiences than I do. I finished the course with new friends and a level B SERE course certification.
