Coolers For Cats

10/14/2026

Unfortunately, our cooler source has dried up (not by their choice). It may be a temporary situation. Then again, maybe not. We thought we should let everyone know since we normally would be building practically non-stop at this time of year. We're sorry that you can't count on us for shelters at this time. We will let you know if anything changes.

GRATITUDE! Our daughter discovered that a feral cat she was feeding had kittens. She trapped the kittens and they have been spayed, flea treated, dewormed, rabies shots, etc. This happened with the help of many wonderful, caring people.

Two of the kittens have found homes and one will be offered for adoption by the SPCA this week.

As many of you know, we only make shelters. We do not do TNR. That is why we are so grateful for all of the help we received.

Our heart felt thanks go out to (in alphabetical order):

We had to say goodbye to our Zack. We found Zack in 2013 while hiking the trails around Shaker Village in Lexington. Zack came running up to us in the woods, desperate for attention (he had been someone’s pet that was abandoned in the woods). We petted him for quite a while, but eventually had to return to our car. Zack followed us for a half mile or more back to the car. Eventually he got in the car of his own volition (he never tolerated being picked up) and came home with us to join our family.

Zack was a good and gentle boy. When we adopted Lily and Hazel at only 6 weeks old, Zack took them under his wing. He bathed them and let them cuddle with him.

We will miss our handsome boy terribly.
