Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine received $293,968 through Regional Grant Cycle 1 to launch the Dayton Street Medicine program in collaboration with Premier Health, Premier Community Health, and Dayton Dream Center. The initiative focuses on delivering primary care directly to individuals experiencing homelessness.

In just its first 12 months of operation, Dayton Street Medicine has provided 448 clinical visits and conducted 313 health screenings, helping connect vulnerable community members with critical healthcare services.

On this Memorial Day, we remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice gave us the freedoms we cherish today.

We honor their courage and selflessness and keep their families who carry their loss in our thoughts.

Our Executive Director, Alisha Nelson, recently had the privilege of presenting to the Ohio Institute for SUD Excellence (OISE) — a network of Ohio’s leading outpatient addiction treatment providers — about our prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts that are helping to strengthen communities and save lives across Ohio.

We’re grateful for opportunities to connect and collaborate with organizations that share a commitment to addressing substance use disorder and supporting recovery for Ohioans. By working together, we can continue creating meaningful, lasting impact for individuals, families, and communities. 💙💚

Business leaders today are facing a growing challenge: how do we support workplace performance, culture, and wellbeing amid rising mental health and addiction concerns?

That’s why we’re proud to partner with The Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, RecoveryOhio, and the Ohio Business Roundtable to offer two impactful course opportunities designed to help leaders better understand and address mental health and addiction in the workplace.

We’re kicking off the conversation next week at the Statewide Grand Rounds on May 27, featuring renowned workplace mental health expert Dr. Kathy Pike, who will present:

“Workplace Mental Health and Addiction: Leadership Imperative for 21st Century Organizations.”

Don’t miss this important conversation on how organizations can lead with compassion, resilience, and action.

New polling found that 41% of Ohioans report currently using ma*****na, up from 35% in 2024.

As ma*****na use among Ohio adults continues to rise, we have launched a public education campaign, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Commerce, on cannabis use, focused on addressing misinformation, correcting common misconceptions, and equipping individuals with accurate, accessible information to make informed decisions.

Leaders from across Ohio are applauding our joint effort and commitment to public awareness and responsible education, including Mayor Donald L. Mason of City of Zanesville; Ted St John of Hope Town Ohio; Greta Mayer of Mental Health Recovery Board of Clark, Greene & Madison Counties; Dr. Holly Raffle of Ohio University; Steve Stivers of Ohio Chamber of Commerce; Pat Tiberi of Ohio Business Roundtable; and Nick Lashutka of Ohio Children's Hospital Association.

As we recognize this May, it’s important to raise awareness about the risks associated with ma*****na use during pregnancy.

Recent polling found that 51% of women in Ohio who are pregnant or hope to become pregnant report using ma*****na. At the same time, the number of Ohioans who believe ma*****na use during pregnancy is acceptable has risen from 14% in 2024 to 19% today.

According to the CDC, cannabis use during pregnancy may impact a baby’s development and increase the risk of pregnancy complications for expecting mothers.

Through our public education campaign with the Ohio Department of Commerce, we’re working to address growing confusion around cannabis use and maternal health.
