Mental health matters in every workplace — including ours.

This month, the Local 392 Women & Allies Committee wants to remind every brother, sister, apprentice, and journeyman that struggling in silence should never be the standard. The trades are built on toughness, but toughness does not mean ignoring burnout, anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, or the weight that so many carry behind closed doors.

We advocate for safer job sites, fair opportunities, and stronger futures — and that includes advocating for mental health. Real strength is checking on your people. Real solidarity is creating an environment where someone feels safe enough to say “I’m not okay.”

Too many people in our industry have been taught to push through pain until it breaks them. It’s time to change that culture. We need more conversations, more compassion, more support, and more accountability when it comes to mental health in the trades.

If you’re struggling, you are not weak. You are human. And you do not have to fight those battles alone.

This month, let’s continue building a union culture where people feel seen, heard, supported, and valued — not just for the work they produce, but for who they are.

Check on your people. Advocate loudly. Listen deeply.
You never know who needs it. 🖤

Our women’s committee leadership plays an important role in helping our group grow, stay organized, and continue making an impact.

— Our President helps guide the vision of the committee, leads with encouragement, and brings women together to work toward shared goals.

— Our Recording Secretary helps keep our committee organized by documenting meetings, tracking important information, and making sure our progress is recorded along the way.

We’re grateful for the time, leadership, and dedication they bring to our committee.

A little recap of TWBN 2025 in Chicago, IL.
We had so much fun meeting new people, trading pins, networking, and most importantly learning!! This conference is so educational when it comes to organizing, building a woman’s committee, fostering safe and respectful job sites, and so much more!!

The Local 392 Women’s Committee is proud to recognize the strength, skill, determination, and leadership that women bring to the construction industry. From the jobsite to the union hall, women are helping build stronger communities, opening doors for the next generation, and proving that there is a place for women in every part of this industry.

We are proud to stand together, support one another, and continue encouraging more women to explore the opportunities, careers, and sisterhood that construction has to offer.
