UNWLA, Branch 144, Cincinnati is happy to support an event organized by our friends of the Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister City Program.
Led by Oksana Krasnikova on Sunday, September 15 (1PM-3PM), the workshop will take place at the Wyoming Presbyterian Church.
Conducted in Ukrainian and focusing on women’s mental health, the workshop will focus on self-care, building self-confidence, and developing skills to help others. The goal is to empower women to care for their mental well-being while strengthening their ability to support their communities.
Oksana, a clinical psychologist from Kharkiv, will also meet with professionals in Cincinnati to enhance her work with war-affected children and trauma victims. She has led successful mental health projects in Kharkiv, now set to expand.

Oksana Sergeenkova is one of the best motivators in the Ukrainian community for raising funds to help Ukraine and invites you to join the flower crown workshop at the festival! Oksana is a volunteer and ambitious activist for Ukraine.

She has been the prime administrator of the Ukrainian festivals since the war started in 2022. You are welcome to join the workshop at Cincinnati Ukrainian Festival and meet Oksana in person and learn more about her activities.

🌼Flower crowns are traditional symbols of Ukraine. These extravagant crowns have been worn for centuries by girls and young women to symbolize purity and fertility. Wearing the crown has always been a classic accessory for weddings and festivals, as it is worn with a proud history and a bright future in mind.

On July 9, our local Ukrainian community and its supporters gathered peacefully in front of Cincinnati Children's Hospital to highlight the ongoing tragedy in Ukraine. The day before, on July 8, 2024, the largest pediatric cancer hospital in Kyiv was destroyed by Russian missiles.
Cincinnati houses an exceptional hospital dedicated to saving the lives of innocent children, making this tragedy hit close to home. Our hearts go out to the families devastated by this attack, who sought only to cure their children. Please keep these families in your thoughts as they mourn their loved ones today. Russia's war is a genocide, with each day bringing new horrors, while the world is getting numb and forgetful.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who came to support us. Today, hug your children a little bit stronger, a little bit longer.

Today, another barbaric attack was unleashed on Ukraine. Okhmadyt, a leading children’s hospital in Ukraine with a large cancer treatment ward, was destroyed. We are announcing an emergency fundraiser to help the children who lost access to vital medical care. UNWLA pledges to match donations up to $25,000.

Today, July 8, Russia unleashed a massive air assault across Ukraine, striking cities nationwide.
In Kyiv, Russian missiles hit the country’s largest children’s hospital, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 31 lives. Okhmatdyt, the leading pediatric cancer hospital in Ukraine was bombed and destroyed. Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been committing genocide against the Ukrainian people. Join us on Burnet Avenue by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to remind everyone that the war continues. The families and children entering and leaving the hospital could have been the ones affected, simply by the chance of birth.
Let’s stand together tomorrow, July 9, at noon at the Burnet campus of Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital to remind our city of this ongoing tragedy and to demand justice.

Our Easter celebration rocked! Big thanks to everyone who came: the company was great, the food was awesome, and the weather was perfect. Children had fun as their parents were looking on, we made new friends and strengthened old bonds. This event couldn't have happened without you. Let's not be strangers - let's keep our community vibe alive and strong. Ukraine needs our support, and we need each other to make Cincinnati feel more like home. Stay in touch! Pasky are baking, sausages are ready, and the krashanky are perfectly cooked. It’s Easter time and our homes are smelling so good! Just a friendly reminder: tomorrow, Sunday May 5, is when we will be having our Ukrainian Easter Picnic at Dulle Park (10530 Deerfield Rd, Montgomery, OH 45242).

Here's what's in store:
💛11:30 - Ukrainian Easter Traditions: learn about various types of traditional eggs and our ancestors' favorite games.

💛15:00 - Second Egg Hunt

This year, we're holding two egg hunts at different times to accommodate our little ones. Please remember that our egg hunt eggs are packed with sweets, so keep allergies in mind.

Parking: You can park at Dulle Park itself or Pioneer Park (across the street from Dulle Park). Street parking is also available on Hartford Hill Ln and Kenilworth Ln.

What to bring: A joyful spirit and a homemade dish to share at our potluck table.

We'll be ready to welcome you from 11 am onwards. Looking forward to seeing you there!
