Meanwhile, check out some of the fun we’re having at our Thursday playgroups. If you’re searching for a spot to run around indoors, enjoy fun snacks, and connect with fellow caregivers - while still feeling close to nature - then we’re the perfect place for you. We’re building campfires, tapping our own (pretend) maple trees, learning about bears and penguins, feeding the birds, building new skills, and taking care of ourselves this winter!

Join us every Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at 4229 Brownway Ave. On colder or rainy days, you’ll find us inside at CityPeaceChurch, but on most days, we’re also outside enjoying the garden and the snow. 💚 🐻 ❄️

Don’t forget, tomorrow we restart Silent Book Club. Grab a book, magazine, article, podcast, that thing you’ve thought about reading or listening to for months now, and join us for some good old fashioned silent treading. That’s right, we sit in a cafe and read quietly to ourselves for 45 minutes while drinking something cozy, then we chat about our love of books and whatever we are currently reading. It’s a no pressure way to get out and get away from caretaking responsibilities, connect with others and with your own thoughts. Children who are not yet mobile are welcome (the rest are NOT welcome 🤗). Hope to see you!

What a fun morning with making us the best balloon 🎈 art we’ve ever seen! When the snowstorm in December kept her from coming to our friend’s fourth birthday party, we decided to bring her to playgroup to celebrate with him! Anyone who is the caregiver to a winter baby knows the challenges of planning parties. We love being a community that knows how to make a celebration out of any day of the year!

Don’t forget! Our first self-care event for parents and caregivers during this busy year-end season is happening with at THIS Friday at 8pm! Put the kids down for bed and join us, or better yet, get out of the house early and grab yourself a quiet drink nearby at or before we start. Give yourself an excuse to create time for your own mind, body and spirit this week.

After a long week of food, festivities and family time, we’re feeling thankful to get back to a routine and thankful for the many partners, neighbors and families who’ve joined us in creating space for connection, wonder and belonging this year. Tomorrow is and we’ve got a new project to share. Stay tuned for a special opportunity to make a big impact with us as we respond to some urgent needs in our community in 2026 and beyond.
