The CG&P Railroad had its first run in September 1877. The line ran from the Carrel Street station in Cincinnati's East End, over a Little Miami bridge, up the hillside to Mount Washington, and then through Anderson out to Mount Carmel. CG&P stands for the Cincinnati, Georgetown & Portsmouth Railroad, but this line never reached Portsmouth.
