The PSA was proud to present the 2026 Beaubien & Miranda Award to Chuck Enloe during Philmont’s All Staff Day evening program on May 29.
Former Livestock Foreman, cowboy, wrangler and horseman, Chuck’s story with Philmont began not with a career plan but with a summer. In 1972, a young wrangler arrived and found the life he was meant to live. He left to serve his country as a United States Marine in Japan and Korea, then earned a degree in Animal Production from Tarleton State University. He returned to Philmont every summer, drawn back by something deeper than habit. He joined the staff full time in 1995, and what followed were more than 30 years as the heart and steady hand of the Livestock Department, guiding wranglers, sustaining the horse and cattle programs, and keeping the spirit of cowboying alive for generation after generation of Scouts and staff. Beyond the Ranch, he shaped his community as a past president of the Maverick Club, helped build the annual Fourth of July Rodeo, and co-founded the Club's Veterans Committee, raising tens of thousands of dollars for servicemen and women.
Chuck retired in January after more than 50 years of service, leaving behind an indelible mark on the ranch, the people who worked it, and the community surrounding it.
Congratulations, Chuck!
