Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice. Our office will resume normal business hours on Monday.

We’re looking for motivated youth ages 16–24 to join our next cohort and build real career skills that set you up for success! Through our program, you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop professional skills, and get connected to opportunities with local businesses across the community.

We also partner with local organizations to provide additional support and real-world work experience because growth doesn’t happen alone.

FITZGERALDS is pleased to showcase the artwork of Mariana Ramirez, Red_cave, Darth Rudo, and Leslie C, as part of the Cicero-Berwyn Community Response in SIDEBAR on June 11th from 5:30-7pm. This FREE event will feature live music on the patio following the exhibit, with Pachanka Music Culture Presents: NAHUALTECA. The event includes a family-friendly workshop and supports Corazon Community Services' efforts to fund opportunities for local youth through afterschool programs.

Leaders from the American Heart Association and Corazón Community Services discuss expanding CPR training for young people and the importance of being prepared for cardiac emergencies.

Tune in to FOX 32 Chicago today at 9:40 AM to learn how Corazón Community Services is helping build a safer, healthier community through lifesaving CPR education.

Our Program Manager, Elsie Salamanca, will join the American Heart Association to highlight how Corazón has implemented a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP) and CPR training policy as part of the American Heart Association’s investment in Chicago communities.

Each quarter, 30–40 youth participants receive Hands-Only CPR training, equipping the next generation with the knowledge and confidence to respond during a cardiac emergency. These efforts are helping create a more prepared, heart-safe community right here in Cicero.

Don’t miss this important conversation about community health, youth empowerment, and the impact of lifesaving education.
