K9 Veterans Day is celebrated annually on March 13th to honor military working dogs (MWDs) and their handlers for their service and sacrifices, recognizing the official formation of the U.S. Army K-9 Corps in 1942. The day commemorates the bravery and loyalty of these canine heroes who have served in various roles, from detection to protection, in conflicts and operations since World War II.

It's that time of year when we sign our contract so we can run the beer stand at the Browns Stadium. If you are local to CLE, and would like to volunteer and make a difference in a veteran's life, please join our VOLUNTEERS: Concrete Footprints Corporation DBA Animal Out and iTELLsecrets group. At Orlando Pride Soccer game and Artemis bumped into Max, currently in this years service dog class and probably learning to fetch soccer balls.

Friday night at the Fraternal Order of Eagles club in Orlando was a testament to the power of community and charity as the Florida Dog Chain sponsored a dinner for their members. In attendance were some of the VMSD board members, handler C**t, and Pilot, one of four sponsored service dogs from last year. There was great food, music, laughter, silent auctions and fellowship.

Tonight at the Orlando Solar Hockey game, Army Combat Veteran SSG Rachelle Renaud was celebrated as a shining example of courage and dedication, honored as both the Hometown Hero and Miss Oviedo. Her service dog was trained at Valor Medical service Dogs.
