Meet the Candidates: CVESD School Board Forum 🗳️

For the first time since before COVID, the Chula Vista Council of PTAs and the League of Women Voters are hosting an in-person candidate forum!

Advocacy is a huge part of PTA, together we can make informed choices about who is making policy on our school board.

With 12 candidates running for 3 open seats, local school board leadership impacts our classrooms directly. Come meet the candidates, hear their priorities, and ask your questions.

When: Tuesday, September 15
Where: Chula Vista Public Library – Civic Center Branch (Downtown) 365 F St

Let’s make sure McMillin voices are in the room!

Don’t stop us now! 🎶✨

Why does the Beagle Bolt matter so much?
McMillin is proud to be a Title 1 school. In plain terms: that means a significant portion of our student body comes from low-income households, so our campus receives federal funding to help bridge the opportunity gap. While that helps with core basics, community-raised funds through events like the Beagle Bolt directly fill the rest of the void—providing the vital classroom resources, student programs/field trips, and enrichment experiences our kids truly deserve.

We have officially hit $30,000 for the Beagle Bolt, and our community’s momentum is unmatched!
There are only 36 hours left to make every dollar count for our students.

Let’s finish strong for our kids, our staff, and OUR community.

Beagle Bolt is BEATING THE HEAT! 🐾⚡️

We just hit a massive milestone: ~$25,000 raised! That means our first school-wide reward—the NO HOMEWORK PASS—is officially earned!

⚠️ Friendly reminder: Students must be registered online to claim school-wide rewards. We only have ~190 students participating at the $25 level so far, so take 2 minutes today to get your Beagle signed up!

🌡️ Heat Wave Update:
With district guidelines pausing outdoor activities through Thursday, we’re pivoting! Rather than rescheduling, we’re showing our kids what being flexible and solutions-oriented looks like. Running outside isn't the only way to move—so we’re bringing the Beagle Bolt inside to the air-conditioned MPR, class by class!
Same energy, great music, cool air, and maximum fun.
