Yesterday, we bid farewell to President Jimmy Carter, a man who dedicated his life to service. From his time as a submariner in the U.S. Navy to his presidency during a challenging era, and later his tireless work with Habitat for Humanity, Carter exemplified resilience, compassion, and a genuine heart for others. As the namesake of the USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23), his legacy lives on in the submarine force and beyond. We honor his extraordinary journey, his unwavering commitment to peace and humanity, and his lasting impact on the world. Fair winds and following seas, Mr. President. Sailor, rest your oar.
