We want to take a moment to recognize and thank our outgoing Regional Commissioner, Alfonso Camacho, for the incredible impact he has had on AYSO Region 116.
Over the past three years, Alfonso has helped guide Region 116 through a period of rebuilding, growth, and transformation.
Under his leadership, we started a Spring Season that continues to grow in demand every year. We have grown our player base and our volunteer community and even launched a Region Tournament that was a season highlight for many players and families.
Some success can be measured in numbers but what is much harder to measure is culture. Alfonso helped create a culture of service, teamwork, mentorship, and positivity. He brought people together, encouraged new volunteers to step forward, helped develop future leaders, and reminded all of us that AYSO is about much more than soccer.
To Alfonso, Andrea, and the entire Camacho family: thank you for the sacrifices, the time, the energy, and the heart you have given to Region 116. We are grateful for everything you have done, everything you have taught us, and for your belief in what Region 116 can be.⚽️❤️
